I've noticed over the years that Jeff does at lot of crazy voices: surfer (my personal favourite), impressions of specific characters (Marcus Fenix, Duke Nukem), British and other nationalities and just other general craziness. So my point is that Jeff should and could be a fucking great voice actor. Anyone with me? Also what are your personal favourite voices?
Jeff's Amazing Vocal Range.
Have you ever heard of a man called Mel Blanc? Jeff's range is nothing compared to professional voice actors like Mr. Blanc there.
If it weren't for Giant Bomb, Jeff would have made an awesome fit with MAD TV (sadly, no longer with us).

Yup, taking pretty much the best of the best and comparing that to an untrained, uninterested goofball, it's a little tilted against Jeff. But he does do a great Marcus Fenix.
@Arker101: @MordeaniisChaos: Only jabronis set the bar low. There's the best, and then there's the rest. THERE CAN ONLY BE ONE.

Doing impersonations and voice acting are two completely different things...
Not necessarily. Have you ever listened to something like the audio commentary on Futurama? If Billy West or John DiMaggio or basically any male voice actor is on one of those commentaries, it often devolves into them fucking around and doing impressions of historical figures saying ridiculous things.
I have to imagine a lot of voice actors (well, cartoon/comedy voice actors at least) get their start doing impressions, and then they either turn that into standup comedy, or they get creative and start coming up with original voices instead of just emulating other people's voices.
Check out Midnight Brown for more Jeff vocal goodness.

or just goodness in general.
Yeah, VAs like him and Jim Cummings are not really a fair comparison. There are people with shorter ranges who are pretty successful voice actors. It would be fun to see Jeff at least in some minor role in a video game. Like maybe some punk in a GTA game.@MooseyMcMan said:

Hasn't everybody? And setting Mel Blanc as the standard for voice actors, is certainly setting the bar high.

Just because you can do an impression doesn't mean you know how to act. And that's where the difference lies.
@H2Oyea: For example, while I know that Cam Clarke has done some more divergent roles over the years, I swear the only thing people seem to hire him for lately is his snide, vaguely villainous voice. The one I most strongly associate with Liquid Snake, though I wouldn't be surprised if he used it in stuff well before that.

No argument here. I was mainly trying to point out that there are transferable skills if you start out doing impressions, than decide to go into voice acting. They are not "two completely different things".
