New Halo Game in the Works!!!

Today Don Mattrick released the news that YES, Bungie is working on a new Halo game. Remember the countdown timer set for Wednesday the 16th that was on Bungies website? When the timer expired, they released a not saying that they wanted to have an announcement for us, but due to the publisher, they would have to hold off for now. When Don Mattrick was asked about this, he replied with a yes, Bungie studios is working on a new Halo game, but it was not announced during E3 because he felt that they had enough big announcments for the consumer and public. So, whit that said.... do you agree with me, that they will announce this at Lipsig 2008. I believe this will be held this Aug. And, are we board of Halo yet?

I do remember hearing about this over at Kotaku, and I wouldn't be to shocked if they announced a new halo game. Though I would love to see them decide to do something new instead.

Good, hopefully they can fix all the stuff that's wrong with Halo 3's multiplayer.

Also, I wouldn't be surprised if Bungie is working on more than a new Halo game -- Frankie wouldn't have left to work on new Halo stuff if Bungie was just going to make another one. I'm sure there are original IPs being developed as well.

Mildly exciting indeed. Heres what else I heard. It will not feature Mr. Chief. It will be a tactical squad based shooter like call of duty.

I was hoping it was another halo game... hopefully focusing on the marines more than spartans.

I remember hearing about Bungie making another Halo game a while ago. Apparently, it will be a much more tactical game featuring marines without Master Chief. I think it is a cool thing to have a more tactical game like Call of Duty in the Halo universe.

Well no duh, MS is forcing them to do another one. :P

Seriously, they are great devs, they could move on to something better, but MS is holding them back big time.

It says Halo-related. Not necessarily a Halo 4.

 Halo FPS with no Master Chief is like Tomb Raider with no Lara Croft, or Zelda with no Link.. It just wouldn't be right =S

It could be done, but it just wouldn't be right.

I love Halo, but is there really a need for another game. As with everything it runs it's course and i think Halo's time is done.

halo to me has always been ok but never really appealed to me i guess but i would like to hear more about this game

I think the Halo ship has sailed.

"It's apparently a new Halo game that won't feature Master Chief, and I heard that it will be a grittier, squad-based game - if its anything like Gears of War except in the Halo universe, I'm going to be very interested in its development."
