Wii sales are slowing down, Wii Fit sales aren't, and UFC Undisputed takes the crown. InFamous also does pretty well for the 4 days it was on shelves. Punch Out!! sales not too hot, though.

bionic commando bombed if its not even in the top 10 (and its multi platform), its a shame because I just finished it today and quite enjoyed it. UFC double on the 360 than on PS3, and people wonder why more and more companioes go multi platform

And yeah, Wii sales are slowing, but that's because everything is slowing. They still sold more than twice as many as the PS3.

Not too surprising @ UFC 09. The UFC made sure everyone who watches MMA knew about it, and the demo on xbox live was really good. It's been my only $60 purchase this year so far. I am surprised @ Infamous - even though it made the top 10, I would have thought it would have sold 300 or 400k.

The Wii sales slowing is significant because it's slowing at a greater rate than the 360 or PS3. PS3 sales were actually up, 360 was exactly even, Wii was down 50K.

Japan proportionally makes up for it.

That's why we still hear about PSP so much at E3. It's the #2 platform in Japan under DS.

Things are down. Other than UFC there weren't many big title games that came out early in May. Keep in mind that inFAMOUS only had about a week in May. So its sales should stack up to be much better after seeing June's numbers.

Things are down about 23% overall but that's just a mixture of the slow summer months and the economy finally catching up to the video game market.

i was at walmart the other day, and a woman, in her 40s im guessing was buying a wii for herself. which is cool im all for that. but she was so set on wii fit, that was like "the game" for her. if most people think that, then i see why the numbers for it are so high

I wouldn't call inFAMOUS amazing, it's cool and all but it has a lot of technical issues and the characters and story sucked. Right along side the character models.

Well, most of those Wii owners have no intention of playing anything other than Wii Fit or some other non-game, so they really couldn't give a crap about a game like Punch Out. Perhaps the Punch Out name doesn't have as much pull as people think?

well heres aprlil month hardware sells
DS: 1.04 million
Wii: 340,000
Xbox 360: 175,000
PS2: 172,000
PS3: 127,000
PSP: 116,000

compare to may and april the playstation 3 actually did better in may out of all the other sony console and handheld. the wii jump big time and the 360 sold the same from april to may.

this is the first time i can think of where Nintendo advertised a game and it didnt sell awesomely in its first month. I have little doubt that it'll be one of those "evergreen" games like Mario Kart, but it's still suprising.

I'm glad UFC is up and Wii play is down. Maybe people are starting to realize that it is a controler with a flash game disc. Or maybe everyone in the universe already has it.

@gingertastic_10: I have had similarly interesting experiences with people and the Wii Fit. I belong to a FRG group, which is the company support group for spouses of soldiers. My wife is currently deployed to Iraq with the US Army. Anyway, the wives in this support group a few meetings ago were all talking about the Wii Fit. Some of these ladies had been going so far as to find Amazon and Ebay Snipers in order to get their Wii Fit faster.

Anything that can get middle aged women who have never gamed before in their lives to find programs for their computer to snipe Amazon is a phenomena that I can't comprehend. This is a runaway train and everyone best just get out the way.

Well, are you a UFC fan? If not, then yeah, I could see why the appeal would be loss on you. But for the millions of 20-something 360 owners who watch UFC religiously, this game really would be a dream come true. It helps that its actually good too. Not surprising at all that it is at the top of this list.

EDIT: Those DS numbers are near obscene.

THQ has been putting out some solid titles the last few years, glad they finally got a hit with UFC. Hopefully it's enough for them to keep putting out Saint's Row, Deadly Creatures, and smaller IPs.

Was not expecting to see inFAMOUS or Punch Out!! in the list, good games and good times.

A little different. I am not a boxing fan at all myself but I can understand and recognize the roots of where it came from. Especially older boxing when it was huge in the '20s, '30s and so forth.
