Pseudoscience on upf

I'll probably get modded for saying this for some reason, as I did during UPF chat, but "What the bleep do we know" is pseudoscience quackery that actively hurts STEM, and its nuts that nobody else called Ben on this. It's shit like this that rots science. It is not quantum theory or quantum consciousness, it is funded by a founder of a cult who believes they are a channeler for a 10000 year dead atlantan warrior.

It is also a movie with a plot.

Watch upf, around 1:10:00. Ben talking about a movie "about string theory".

So I see that he made a mocking note of a movie he remembered and then...that's it.

What are you doing?

I did not get at all that he was mocking it, I didn't get the impression that he thought it was anything other than a movie. It's fucked up that his physics class had him watch it. Lots of impressionable people watch UPF, so i'm hoping Ben says something about it being bullshit once he googles it, or at the very least, never says anything about it again without discrediting it.

This seems like a healthy hill to die on.

When someone sarcastically says something changed their life, I generally assume they're not endorsing said thing. I think science will survive.

Like..you want a statement for just bringing something up? Not endorsing, not even expounding on, just saying out loud. In a tone where I can practically hear an eye rolling at that.
