So my brother is in his final year of high school and pretty much everything he does he somehow manages to turn into a programming project. Now he made a game that's "better than spore" which I thought the GB community might find humorous. He asked me to mention that his name is Taylor, so nobody will accuse him of plagiarism. That said, I'm pretty sure I had this idea about 2 years ago, but who's counting :)
(P.S. this game will take longer to download than it will to play)
So did I. It's called "Paper Ass Punch" (PAP for short), you basically just draw a picture of an ass on some paper, and then punch it until your hands bleed. So much more fun than Spore.

sure sounds like it. spore was the dumbest idea ever.
That's neat in its own kind of way. But let's face it, it is not hard for a game to be better than Spore. Major headache that was. Letdown of the decade? Certainly up there with Mafia II so far...
@Voldy: Yes, Spore certainly missed the mark. I think if you took this an expanded it into a large project, you would be looking at what Spore originally claimed to be: an evolution simulator. Its an idea that I've always been fond of, but as this little game simulates, the aspect of randomness can seriously limit the player's ability to influence things.
@billnyethesciencepie: I was just arguing with him about this. He keeps trying to tell me how powerful scratch is. He is going into compsci though, and he already has some java under his belt .
Wow, people are outrageously dismissive of Spore. It was an amazing concept that resulted in a middling game. And if 'middling' is enough to say a game is terrible, then half of the communitie's most popular games go right down the toilet.

I dunno, I really don't think it's at all justified to rate a game based on what it's NOT. I mean Fallout 3's gameplay style isn't the same as Fallout 1 and 2's, but that's not a bad thing. I can probably think of more later, but it really does feel like the negative opinions of Spore are based on overhype and not the quality of the game.

Oblivion claimed a lot of things too. Turned out I had more fun waiting for the game than actually playing it. Developers promise things all the time. I think Spore is treated unfairly compared to many of those games.
