The giant bomb icon in the top left is 2 images...

If your using firefox you can left click the bottom half of the image and click view image only to see its about 1/4 of the image, the top half is one piece though. Kinda strange, no?

*edit* The bottom half is named "Logo Hang" and the top half is just "Logo"

That's not really that strange... Many website banners/logos split their images up into different parts.

But its like only a little tiny sliver, seems unnessesary

I think it's because they wanted the mouth to overlap, so they had to split the image for the coding to work. That's just my guess though.

I noticed that a while ago. I figured it had something to do with the navigation bar being a separate part of the page.

I think they do that for coding purposes.

Its for overlap.   Turn the page to white and you can see why.  The top part is a gif and the bottom is a png so the background of the image can be transparent.
