Would you say that you even out your playing time on both consoles or keep one just for exclusives? If you only play one for exclusives or own less gams for it, do you still think it was a justified purchase? Just interested.

I own less games for PS3 but I've been playing my PS3 more lately for some reason.  It goes back and forth, and kind of depends more on what new & good stuff has been released.

To me both PS3 & 360 are absolutely vital, I could get along without any other platforms right now (except I do like to play some of the classics of Nintendo, Sega, and DOS from time to time)

i flip flop over it...there has been whole stretches where I do not play the PS3,  I will be the first to tell people the 360 is better... I don't regret buying it though MGS4, ratchet, uncharted and killzone are all amazing games. I have only just bought over 10 retail games for the console and I have had it  since ratchet came out.
Yeah, only for exclusives..and the occasional game that doesn't come out in europe for six months or so (blazblue).

My 360 is dead and I'm not going to pay to fix it so I would say I play my PS3 more.  Once I stepped back and realized that the 360 is all advertising and is otherwise an inferior console, I bought a PS3.

I don't own a PS3, but I'm planning on getting one, pretty much just to play exclusives. I'd rather play the multi-platform games on my 360, because of the easy connection to friends and achievements.

I only really want a PS3 because I now see that there are quite a few games that I can only play on that console, I really like the PS3, but I only have one friend with one, and a lot more with 360's.

If a multi-platform game has extra content, and not just a small amount, it has to be a good amount, I might buy the game on the PS3, or even both.

I play my PS3 for everything I can and only play 360 for exclusives these days. Ever since my 360 red ringed it left a bad taste in my mouth for the console and the PS3 has been getting better exclusives of late anyway. I also prefer the dual shock.

But my 360 gets plenty of Netflix action, whereas my PS3 gets all Blu-Rays (obviously) and DVDs. So my media time is split pretty evenly.

i use my ps3 more then 360, i like both, but when it comes down to it i like dual shock better then 360 controller....and the fact of 3 ring with the xbox has alwasy worried me, and i run my ps3 all the time and no problems from it so far.

so i pretty much only use 360 for exculsives and if it is a multi and alot of people i know get it for 360 to play over live, i'll buy it for 360....

Not many exclusives for my PS3 so it collects dust.  I turn it on once a week just to let it breath (same with the Wii).  360 gets used everyday.

Yeah, i was just wondering as I use my PS3 much more than my 360, which I got late last year. I had a bad experience with MS automatically assuming I was American as I had a Gmail account so when I went gold in March I found out that I had to make a new account, I was a bit annoyed from then on in general about the whole thing as I now have 3 XBL accounts (including my old account on the original Xbox which I couldn't recover) that made me annoyed with the 360 for a while. Also, because I've been in university halls this past year I've only ever had one console down with me at a time so it's fluctuated.

I use my PS3 more since I lent my cousin all my Xbox and Xbox 360 games AND hard drive (he got the core system for Christmas).  Before then, it was dead and was heavily used by me and the like (probably why it died - E74 error).  Anyways, if that hadn't have happened I'd probably be playing my 360 more.  It really is more a controller preference to me and the 360's marketplace is FAR superior to the PS3's.  Don't get me wrong, but the interface compared the 360's is lackluster to say the least.

I prefer the online and the controller on my 360, and so I just use my PS3 for exclusives. I don't use it much, and if it didn't serve as my primary dvd/blu-ray player I would feel silly, but this way at least I get some use out of it, and play the odd game as well

I use my 360 for pretty much all games and streaming netflix.  PS3 only for exclusives and blu-rays.  Definitely worth purchasing both imo.

I am a game fan.  I play games.  I collect games.  That justifies the purchase.

BUT!  I only keep a 360 for exclusives.  If I can buy a new title for PS3, I will.  I used to mostly play my 360.  Then it broke. Then the new one ruined my game disks(re-bought them for PS3), then the 3rd one's video card fried itself....  I'm on my 4th 360.  That I barely use.  When ODST comes out in a few hours.  That will be the first time it's been on, in months. I hate the 360 hardware.  With a burning passion.   It gave me herpes.

I'v owned/own every console since NES.  Never have they caused problems like the 360.  I still use them on occasion.  Played my SNES, 2 weeks ago and my PS2 was left on, almost non-stop for over 3 years.  While logged into FFXI.

I prefer the PS3 now.  But 360 has more interesting exclusives and hit the ground running.  IMO.

Also, if you count movies and internet browsing.  PS3 was always being used more.  Since PS3 plays ma Blue rayz, and has all the free porn. From Hub.  Micha Moore looks way better on my 40+ inch 1080i LCD, with surround sound.

PS; I think she likes me!

I play my 360 way more than my PS3. I actually gave my PS3 to my brother-in-law to be returned at ??? I haven't missed it yet, kinda sad. I just play more LIVE than anything with ODST coming out and modern warfare I know I'm just going to use my 360 till it implodes. Why play modern warfare or borderlands on a 360? The answer is easy and unbiased. It just happens to be the console most of my family and co-workers have. So, if I want mulit player with my family and friends it's 360 or bust because for the most part they only have one system per household.

I use them both equally. Many hours each per week.

Although your question asked which I "play" ... therefore it has to be the Xbox 360. The PS3 is a movie disc player

I mainly play the Xbox 360. Then again I only have SF4 and Initial D Extreme Stage for the PS3... I have SF4 for 360 as well and HD Remix for both consoles but I tend to play more on 360 because I find the online to be more smooth.

In a way the PS3 wasn't worth it for myself but at least I have bluray :)

I'd say playtime with both is pretty even, although I find that I tend to play certain genres more on one system than the other. Like almost all my fighters tend to be on PS3, whereas most of my shooters are on 360.

I play the PS3 more, as I feel it is a better multimedia device (movies, music, etc) so I have it on more and am likely to have something thrown in there.  I love Ratchet and Clank, MGS, and God of War, so I knew I was going to eventually get the console, just had to wait for that initial drop a year back or so.  Started with the 360 (got hooked on Gears) and just got it back from the 2nd red ring.  Mainly the 360 is the co-op with buddies station.    I go back and forth with the third party stuff, depends if my buddies have it on the 360 or if the Gamefly queue is quicker on one platform.

I like both machines equally, they both have their positives and negatives hardware and software wise.....never regretted either purchase.  Especially when I got the HDTV and surround sound, just made things that much better.

Like a lot of people have said, since Im not a huge online gamer - I tend to prefer (and play more of) my PS3.

I love both though, and I honestly do tend to spread my time between the two, because there is perfectly good reason to!

Pretty much sums it up. The only games I plan on buying for my Xbox 360 for sometime is Halo 3: ODST and Splinter Cell: Conviction. If my 360 dies again, I'm most likely don't with it (on my eighth [don't ask (no, I don't abuse it)]).

I play all my multiplatform games on 360 and keep my PS3 for exclusives.  I occassionally get a multiplatform game on my PS3 if my PS3 friends are going to play it online more often than my 360 friends.

It really just depends on which set of friends are going to be playing the game more often.

more and more i see myself playing ps3 way more than 360. one, its because i actually have more friends with ps3 than 360 (wierd i know, but here in philly ps3 has always had this sort of elite thing going for it and now that its a sleek new model and only $300, everyone is trying to buy one).
360 just hasnt had any good exclusives that i want in a while.

Definitely play the PS3 more. Not really a fan of any of the 360 exclusives. The only reason my 360 still gets played a lot is because I bought SF4 for it. I haven't even charged the controller batteries for a few months now. Most of my friends have the 360 but they're only really interested in shooters and if it can be played on a PC, I'd rather play it there.

360 for multi-platform, PS3 for exclusives. My PS3 does get a hell of a lot of Blu-Ray action, though.

I try to get multiplatform games for my PS3 if I don't read any reviews about the PS3 version being inferior.  A lot of developers do a garbage job with the PS3 (Ghostbusters, Orange Box), or they don't offer DLC on the PS3 (GTA4, Fallout) so I end up playing my 360 more often.

I've had two 360's red-ring on me.  Playing anything on it feels like I'm taunting it into it happening again.  I prefer playing games on my PS3 because I know it can take the heat and not break.
My 360 also has a pathetic 20gb hard drive.  At some point I'm going to have to cave and buy the $140 120gb drive for it, which is an extreme ripoff.  If I ever run out of space on my PS3, I can cheaply upgrade it.  I never have to worry about how much space a game install is going to take.
360 achievement points are fun but I get the same enjoyment out of trophies.

@Otacon: I was a die hard Nintendo fan and waited to buy the Wii on it's launch night... after being thoroughly disappointed in the whole system I really wanted a PS3 but the were a bit expensive and a bit ugly so I traded it in for my Xbox 360. After pretty much only buying the major multi-platform releases on my 360, I don't like Halo or Gears, I really started taking note of games like Killzone and Uncharted but needed the excuse to justify buying another console. Finally (which is what I'd hoped) the PS3 slim was announced and so I got that on release.  Love my PS3, as everything is ready to go, and I prefer the controller, which believe it or not I use to insult it's dated design in my Gamecube fanboy days. I have all my media running through my PS3 via Wi-Fi and could never watch another DVD again after experiencing Blu-Ray. About the only Microsoft exclusives I'm looking forward to are Alan Wake and Mass Effect 2, the rest I'll buy for the Sony and as I can play them online as well.

I own both and play both about equally.  And, while I own more 360 games than PS3 games, if (big "if") you include all the PS2 games I have purchased since buying my PS3 it comes out about even.  I've been playing games lot more on my PS3 lately, but that's because of PS2 titles and catching up on single player HD games I've rented.  When some good 360 games come out, I'll return to that box on a more regular basis.  I know I'll get lost in Modern Warfare 2 on the 360 in November, but before that drops, I'll be all about Uncharted 2 on the PS3.  My 360 is so old it doesn't have HDMI, it's red ringed twice and the HDD is nearly full.  But, I still check XBL every Wednesday to see what has shown up for download.  Their online service is generally better than PSN.

EDIT: My PS3 gets all my media sharing love, too.  I stream movies from my hard drive through it constantly and use it as my primary DVD player (and obviously blu-ray.)  On the other hand, my 360 is used for music and as an Ipod dock since the PS3's interaction with Ipods is horribly confused.   Also, I have Netflix so nearly all my rentals are blu-rays for my PS3 but I stream instant movies via the 360.

I play my 360 more, some games on it are just more appealing to my tastes.
Though i fucking love the non-region locking on the PS3. That will be the console i take when i move to Australia, which is known for its crappy game rating system.

I tend to get exculisives and then for cross platform I try to take a look at the content or how the game feels. In the case of Arkham Asylum getting the PS3 version let you play as the joker well no brainer there, But say for Devil May Cry 4 I went with PS3 also because DMC 1-3 were on PS2 so it just feels like a playstation game to me.

Ever since my 360 RROD I tend to buy the majority my third party games for the PS3 and play exclusives and Netflix on my 360. Still, when you throw in my backlog, I'd still say that my gaming time is pretty evenly split.

Currently only own a PS3 from the current gen. however there are 360 exclusives i'd want to play and will be buying a 360 for, most likely if the FORZA3 bundle hits the US. However multiplatform games would continue to be purchased for the PS3 unless its an inferior product (like Ghostbusters was).

These days i play more on my PS3, i switched to playing all my multi platform games on that  around a year ago now. Used to be on the 360, but being afraid of it dying on me before i get to play Mass Effect 2 and Splinter Cell Conviction, made me cut down on its usage. I don't trust my launch 360, died two times and i'm sure that a third time is lurking around a corner somewhere.

I guess the PS3 is mainly used for exclusives. All games I own for it except one are exclusives, but I still think I did the right thing buying it. Since it's the old model it plays PS2 games without a problem, so I use it for that as well.

play my 360 as shit load more than my PS3.  I think Uncharted is a retarded game and was disappointed by Killzone 2 and MGS4.  So i just watch blu rays on it.
