A lot of people love the music in games while they are playing them, but how many game soundtracks have you started listening to outside of the game?
For me, it's Persona 3 and 4. I think these games have amazing soundtracks and I have a playlist on my iTunes devoted specifically to their songs.
Video Game Music You Listen To When Not Playing
I listen to certain songs from the Persona 3 soundtrack but only once in a while, because I don't want to get tired of listening to it.
Usually I'll listen to the songs Gamesradar posts on their game music of the day articles.
Do orchestral versions count? Because I listen to an orchestral version of the Chrono Trigger and Chrono Cross soundtracks as well as orchestral and jazz versions of the Phoenix Wright soundtracks.
Starcraft Terran themes, Diablo II (Tristram, Rogue Encampment), Super Mario RPG (Seaside Town, Beware the Mushroom Forest). Not that those three games are all I listen to. In fact, lately all I've done is listen to videogame music.
Hell, I have every musical cue from Earthbound, and I listen to every single one.
I find that most game soundtrack lose a bit of punch out-of-context, especially action oriented games. I think Dragon Age: Origins' soundtrack worked well outside of the game though. I used to listen a lot to the music from Suikoden and Suikoden II also. But generally I don't listen much to music from games without actually playing the games. Just like I don't really listen to movie soundtracks either.
I do have the P4 soundtrack disk from the game but I don't listen to it much.
FFX however has one of the greatest soundtracks for listening to outside of game. Listening to Besaid Island can calm me down no matter what :).
For anyone who really likes game soundtracks go to youtube and look up a user named SilvaGunner, his entire account is just video game OST's and he's got TONS of them.
Blizzard soundtracks (Warcraft, Starcraft, Diablo) and Mega Man X when I'm writing or browsing the internet.
Anamanaguchi's Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game soundtrack in the car usually.
I have a bunch of CDs in my car. Regular music, and all.
But one of them has the Warcraft 2 hidden track "I'm a Medieval Man". I jam that loud every now and then.
I listen to a lot of metal and rock covers (Powerglove, Year 200X, Entertainment System, Metroid Metal, the list goes on) but the most intriguing thing I've found is Team Teamwork's Ocarina of Rhyme, mashups using the Ocarina of Time soundtrack. They mix it with artists like Clipse, Dr. Dre, Busta Rhymes, Aesop Rock. It never gets old.
Bionic Commando Rearmed, Dark Void Zero, Persona 4, Total Annihilation, Morrowind/Oblivion (mainly a couple of atmosphere tracks and the title music from both), Dark Reign: Rise of the Shadowhand (or what the expansion was called), Descent 2/Vertigo, Unreal/Unreal Tournament (1999), Gloom, 7th Legion and Quake (1). Those are the ones that most frequently appear on my MP3 player. Not THAT frequently, but maybe once every 3 months or so.

" Some chosen songs from Grand Theft Auto IV's soundtrack. Valdivostok FM! "This.
Also, music from Space Channel 5 Part 2
I listen to the Scott Pilgrim game soundtrack while walking to the train station most days. Anamanaguchi are amazing.
in the past 5 months I've listened to the Demon's souls and Nier soundtracks quite a bit. Really good stuff.
