Who do you prefer? Bethesda or Bioware

Two great game developers. I personally like Bethesda more because their games stick with me longer.

I'd have to say BioWare, as i enjoy Mass Effect more than the Elder Scrolls games. Any particular reason why you chose not to make this a poll by the way?

BioWare for sure. Bethesda games are good too, but they're full of bugs and kind of janky.

Loved their games a whole lot more, and Bethesda needs to hurry up and give me more Elder Scrolls.

Bioware has certainly impressed me a great deal but I'd still probably go back to my bethesda classics for another run before I replay mass effect. (though I haven't played dragon age at all, perhaps it could sway me, who knows)

I'm an admitted Bioware fanboy, but I do love Fallout 3, Morrowind & Oblivion.  In fact, F3 and ESIV:O are two of the very few games I've ever bought twice.  But, I've loved Bioware games more over the years.  Their manner of storytelling has appealed to my play style more.  My personal top 3 games ever are all Bioware games.  In the end though, it's really like choosing between cake and ice cream.  Both are great and my (gaming) life would feel incomplete without either.

Gonna have to go with Bioware and their library. Absolutely loved Morrowind and Fallout 3 (before Mothership Zeta at least). But Oblivion kinda disappointed me.

Bioware for me simply for there story being more memorable, netherless tho bethesda still make top notch games

Bioware, because of Mass Effect and Dragon Age. The only Bethesda game I truly loved was Morrowind.

Am I the only one who finds it slightly depressing that there are only two companies making top-grade wrpgs?

BioWare. Seriously, Mass Effect is like the best series ever.

I could never get into Dragon Age or Elder Scrolls so for me this ultimately comes down to Fallout 3 vs. Mass Effect and while I loved both of those games Mass Effect wins out for me.

Bioware. More cohesive storyline.

BioWare, no question.

Bethesda for life.

Bioware. I didn't really like Oblivion AT ALL.

Bethesda has delivered an uncountable number of hours of enjoyment to me with their games. I do love BioWare too, however.

Bethesda still have clunky combat present in their games. Fallout is ass without VATS.

For me it depends on the context. I'd choose Bioware for story-telling. Bethesda for creating good open-world RPGs

Bethesda hasn't had a good game since Fallout 3 but that game is enough for me to say i vote for Bethesda.

Bioware for the simple reason that they made my all time favorite game, Knights of the old republic.

Bioware.  I tend to be only able to play through Bethesda games once or twice before I get so bored with them that I can't even start a new game, whereas in Bioware games, I've often played them back to back numerous times.

I prefer Biowares stories and character interaction/development but prefer playing RPG in first person infinitely more so.
 
Prefer the music from Bethesda, Jeremy Soule has done some fantastic stuff there. Real tough choice.

Is there a studio that has more/higher rated RPGs than Bioware? NO! Not to mention the rabid fanbase.

Bioware for me. I've only played 2 bethesda games: Oblivion and Fallout 3. I hated Oblivion but loved Fallout 3 whereas I really liked both mass effect games and liked Knights of the old republic.

While neither of them get close to touching Blizzard, I really get the feeling that Bioware games have more polish to them than Bethesda games.

Oh Don't make me choose. Its like picking a favorite child. 

So... most of you are basing your decision on Bioware's Mass Effect 1,2 and Dragon Age; and Bethesda's Oblivion and Fallout 3? Baldur's Gate, Neverwinter Nights and KotOR don't exist for you? Funny...

If you had asked me this question in 2003, I would have gone with Bioware, but now I'm really torn on picking 1. They're both really great companies that make real good games.
