I just found out and I'm kinda surprised I didn't hear about this before. I'm using ePSXe, and it can play the games from the CD or use iso's. That's pretty nice because I can play all my old games without having to go on an archeological dig to try and remember where they were entombed. The graphics look primitive as hell, even with slightly cleaned up visuals. But it's still a pretty sweet blast from the past to be able to check out all my old fav's like Twisted Metal 1 and 2, Warhawk, FF 7, 8 and 9 (maybe now I'll actually finish 8), Vagrant Story, the Resident Evil games, Castlevania SOTN, MGS1, ect. I'm going to have to clear some space on my hard drive.
Why didn't anyone tell me the PS1 had been emulated??
um...yeah its been emulated for years now. and its better then what the ps2 and ps3 are capable of...specially the ps3 its Ps1 bc is atrocious.
- Vagrant Story- Sound issues and graphic probs
- FF8 and FF9 fight menus don't appear
- FF7 works great I completed it on my modded Xbox which was made less of a chore with that fast forward button.
- MGS1 is plain useless on the emulator
- Xenogears-cutscenes don't work
Edit: This could just be my laptop but im pretty sure its across the board.
They do, at least FF9 does. I had that problem at first but I tried a couple of different video render plugins, messed with the settings and made sure it was using my video card and not on-board video processing. It sucks Xenogears cutscenes don't work, I'll have to look around and see if there's a fix." @Alex_Murphy: Man it won't work with every game

Yea, but it's usually version 0.32 where it loads up and then crashes." How did you not know? The PS2 is emulated. So is the Wii. "

Uggh, I remember trying that back in the day when Napster was was still going strong. It seemed very clumsy and not all the games were supported. Plus, I still had my PS1 all hooked up. Yea you had to turn it upside down to keep the cutscenes from chugging, but it worked." Bleem! yo, that shit is mad old. At one time they even had Bleemcast! where you could play PS1 games on the Dreamcast, MADNESS! "

" Cause we all assumed you knew! "Well I know now, and knowing is half the battle. Actually, in this situation, it's the whole battle.
" dude, how else would anyone play persona 2: innocent sin? "Shhhhhhhhhh don't tell them the secret .
I'm playing through Persona 4 on a PS2 emulator. Pretty awesome game. I wouldn't mind trying to emulate the new Policenauts fan-translation, I wanna see other games from Kojima basically.
Also yeah I assumed everyone knew about PS1 emulation, been around for a while, though I like N64 better.

Pretty much all those games youve listed ive completed on epxse except ff 8/9, it all depends on what settings/plugins you use, the emulator itself is outdated but there always updating plugins for newer hardware.
Ps1 emulation has been around A LONG time, hell the ps2 is almost fully emulated right now depending on your computer and what settings you use, i played persona 4 for the first time on pcsx2 while watching the endurance run lol, pretty crazy stuff.
That's not as reliable as just putting it in the PS3 if you wanted. They have one for each system, it's not surprising. The ones that work well are SNES, Sega CD, and GBA. I've used them once for some games I've never played ike Snatcher and I never got Zelda Minish cap. They were very good. As for Snes I was just trying to play the games I tried to remember playing when I was little.
