Your favorite video game enemies?

I felt inclined to start this topic after seeing an amazing creation in Dragon Quest IX. It's called a Mortoad, and is a giant purple toad with Mortars on it's shoulders. Oh, and it shoots rockets out of it's stomach. So, what are your guys' favorite video game enemies?

Goombas...easily.  Nothing is more satisfying then jumping on their head.

Ultima Weapon and Omega Weapon (and their counterparts in other games/franchises), just because they've provided me with so many hours of optional endgame fun.

As others have said the headless suicide guys from Serious Sam, the Headcrabs from Half Life.
 
I'll add the Grunts from Halo.

Those fucking horse monster things from Half Life 2. They freaked me the fuck out! Every time I would hear one it would literally make my skin crawl and make the hairs on my neck stand on end. That one level where they chase you through the city was easily one of the most terrifying moments I have ever experienced in any game because of how creepy those things are.

Those things that ran on all fours and had big blade like hands. iirc they had a gallop sound when they ran. They always reminded me of horses. "

I made a thread like this a few months ago. Anyway, my answer's still the Midgets from Borderlands (Any of them; they're all funny!)

The Elites from Halo for sure, perfect mix of very deadly and insanely agile.
 
All the bosses from the Monster Hunter games, there's little option to cheat or slack your way through a fight in all of the battles.
If you're using a melee weapon you're bound to be dodging its attacks but also its shockwaves from landing in some cases or if they're turning their sharp claws etc.
If you're using a ranged weapon you sacrifice a lot of armor and even with some defensive buffs you're still pretty weak in terms of defense.
So if you don't pay attention and dodge, chances are you will die quickly!

The Tyrant and Mr. X from the Resident Evil franchise.

 
The Combine from Half Life is the only answer.
