2010 NHL Playoffs Thread

Well DET lost so now PHX leads 2-1     very sloppy game by red wings.

Pittsburgh Penguins - Ottawa Senators Game 3 is going to be starting soon.  I want the Senators to win that series so badly. 
 
New Jersey - Philadelphia Game 3 is also on as well.

I want the Canucks to perform so badly this year, but I just can't see it happening. Second choices, Habs, Sens, Avs, or Hawks. Should be an interesting playoffs.

Man, Ottawa had so many chances there only to allow Pittsburgh to get the go-ahead goal.  Lame.

I'm a new fan for hockey as of december last year (i was always intrested but i really had to go see a game to understand it more and my first game was Blackhawks vs. Predators and now still a blackhawks fan)  
So I'm rooting for the Blackhawks.

I don't understand how that wasn't a 5 minute major when it was boarding.

My Leafs did't make it ,So I'm pullin for my second team Chicago. Game 2 starts in 5, LETS GO HAWKS!

I'd like the Hawks to make it far.  It's been a while since Original Six team made it to the Finals that didn't have Red Wings in their team name.

I'm a Pens fan but I don't see them going past the 2nd round. We might face the caps or the Devils and we haven't been able to beat them ALL SEASON LONG. 
But we are on our way to get past Ottawa. 2-1

Man, Phoenix isn't messing around, they basically won that game without Doan. I'm betting Osgood starts game 4.  
 
I can't really get behind any of the eastern conference teams. I dislike all of them. 

Chicago's up 2-0 right now in Game 2. 
 
I don't know if it was Phoenix who looked impressive or Detroit who looked bad.  That final goal by Phoenix made Detroit look really bad.

Chicago truly has the best goal song. 
 
edit: and I just realized they're playing the team with the worst goal song. haha.

With the exception of the PHI/NJ game, today's games have been sort of boring.

Sharks brought the heat in period 2 there. Really lucky we survived unscathed.
 
Avs-Sharks 0-0 heading into period 3 now.

The Sharks never really prove to be any good come Playoff time.  Even after switching coaches, the players just don't play come Playoff time.

personally i think that the cup final is going to be the coyotes against the buffalo sabres

The Hawks almost looked back to normal after that embarrassing 3rd Period on Friday night. Game 3 should see them clicking on all cylinders again. Not only do they have the best Goal song, they also have the best jersey in all of sports. :)

Sabres all the way, Ryan miller is a great golatender.

I just wonder where they go from here.  Clearly not allowing Colorado to shoot the puck is enough for them to win games anymore.

I blame Joe Thornton.  He is such a choke. During the regular season he is the best power forward in the game, but during playoff he's like Bertuzzi post sucker-punch. I know it is easy to kick a guy when he's down, but let's face it this crap happens year after year.

Nabby is bad, almost as bad as Turco, who could very well end up in San Jose... 
but im just loving that a rag tag group of squirrely kids in Colorado can beat the (CUP FAVORITES EVERY YEARZOMGS) 
love seeing the Sharks lose, esp since Colorado is my 2nd favorite team 

Joe is going his last year on his contract. If the Sharks are 'one n' done' yet again I wouldn't be surprised if he is used as trade bait at the draft. I know it is easy to jump off the bandwagon after a tough game, but this happens every freaking year. After a while you need to make a change to your leadership core.

During the later parts of the third period last night I swear I saw some sort of purple magic field go up in front of the next to stop a puck from going in.

Flyers will win, so everyone else stop posting.

Without everyone posting, we have no thread.  And without a thread, the Playoffs do not exist. 
 
The Caps need to start playing hockey.  I do not understand how they can not come out to play for 6 out of the first 8 periods of the first series.

If the Flyers win, they'll play Washington or Buffalo.  I know Bettman will never let Pittsburgh lose to Ottawa in round 1, so...Buffalo v. Pittsburgh in Round 2 would an interesting matchup. 
 
But this is too early to start discussing round 2.  Especially if you're a Sharks fan. 
 
Oh, and the Caps are now up 3-0.
