Do you download your music, or buy it?
I buy my albums. I currently own about 130+ cd's and the collection continues to grow.
If I want some new music, I listen to some samples at Last.fm, read some user reviews at Metal-Archives and make up my mind.
I cannot stand having some downloaded songs on my pc, it has to be full albums from my cd's.
What about you, how do you get your music? Please don't mention any links, since it's illegal downloading through P2P, torrents and the likes.
... and so the almighty question is:
"Download it, I have no money to buy the albums. I would love to, since the quality is much better.Same here except that I don't like the idea of albums. Before the internet I don't know how people could stand actually paying for an entire album and then not liking some of those songs in the album. My favorite genres Are classic rock and Metal. I like a lot of those songs but I don't some of those song on the albums. For example, my favorite band, Led Zeppelin in their album "In through the out door", I do not like the song "Hot dog". I just don't like it. DONTt like it. But I just can't get enough of "All my love". I can't even imagine paying for hot dog.

"I download ones I can't buy without having to go through a bunch of loops and looking up if I can ship it here or not.Yeah, that's the big downside of buying albums. I buy mine from Amazon, and sometimes it takes week for them to arrive, but at least I get them cheap.

I DL off of iTunes unless I am looking for a Beatles-AC/DC-Sabbath record, because well, they aren't on iTunes.
I buy my music. Your question should be "Do you buy music or pirate it?" because many people who buy it now, download it legally off itunes or other sites.
I don't understand the internet pirate school of thought. They try to make p2p sharing seem like the civil rights cause of our time. Is it as bad as stealing a physical CD? No. The distributor isn't loosing a possible sale. But it still isn't right. People want all of the music they want without paying. And I do find that selfish.
I'm not trying to demean pirates. I use to be one. And I have friends who are. It just don't find it right.

I think it stupid to get a bunch of songs of the internet and not caring at all about supporting the artist. When I like a band, I usually buy everything they have put out, so A: I want to support them a little, and B: I just love having alot of albums. It shows that you care about the music, and aren't just another greedy pirate. Of course, you can download the legally of Itunes ect... but I just don't like paying for something that is strictly digital. I want to have something physical.

1 CD in 1996 that I mostly hated then Napster(1999-2002), then Kazaa, WinMX, Limewire, Kazaalite then Nada. I don't buy music from artist because I don't believe people should be signed into a million dollar recording contract just to use computers to enhance their voices or create lyrics and songs using computer's to make it way to easy. Causes the quality of todays music to become somewhat repetative and lacking of originality.
If I buy music I always buy a CD then rip it into Zune, I like having a physical copy of the CD.
Plus I really hate downloading because your whole collection gets so unorganized and thats the main reason I buy CD's, all the music comes neatly filed into their respective albums and the quality is excellent.
