Do have do disagree with you on the Pumpkins, anything they make is gold.

Tool's Undertow and Opiate are nothing compared to they pure genius of Aenima and Lateralus

I don't really know it's hard to think of any others....

In the case of zeitgeist, i use the term "crappy" loosely. I just think gish, sd, mcis, and adore were alot better. The other two I named however are total crap.

New Zealand's Supergroove released a mighty album in 1994's Traction, which was full of great funk stuff , and then they released Backspacer which is one of the dullest things to take up space in my CD drawers.

I don't think the new New Pornographers album is very good at all.

Also, I was so blown away by We Are Scientists and their first album.  But their second album is just awful.  They sound like they're trying to imitate Arcade Fire and doing a bad job of even that.

I'm a huge Matthew Good fan, but I think Hospital Music was a misjudgment.

As much as I love Metallica and Mr. Cornell, I couldn't agree more (not too familiar with the Smashing Pumpkins though).  Can't really think of anything else off the top of my head though. (Well, Sabbath made some stuff after Dio left (which itself wasn't as good as when Ozzy was there, but was still good), and that wasn't very good, but I don't remember the name).

Minutes to Midnight, by Linkin Park. I liked Hybrid Theory, and Meteora. They seemed to be a decent band from those albums, but when MtM released it seemed to be a little too soft considering songs like Numb and Papercut, that they had performed in the past. I will admit I like Hands Held High, but the rest of the album doesn't really appeal that much.

Green Day- American Idiot

While the album isnt really all that bad i fucking cant stand when bands get big and then decide to shove their beliefs in peoples faces. If you werent a political band when you started dont try to be one when you get big, its fucking childish.

Melvins- Prick
The sole reason this album was made was to help fund their next album(and possibly best) Stoner Witch. The album is just them goofing off in the studio.

I love Miles Benjamin Anthony Robinson's debut, but the only time I've managed to get through the entirety of his sophmore, Summer of Darkness, was when I fell asleep.

Cabaret Voltaire - 'Groovy, Laid Back and Nasty'.

Yes, twenty years on, I still feel compelled to call them out on that one.  The godfathers of Industrial do a House music album that sounded dated even when it first came out.

Ministry - 'Dark Side of the Spoon'

A Democrat in the White House = poor Ministry albums

Skinny Puppy - 'Mythmaker'

The album that makes you look back fondly on 'The Process'.  At least it did have 'Politikil'.

Encore and Relapse by Eminem are both pretty bad. Recovery is a step in the right direction, but there's still some work that needs to be done before he can stand up to what he used to be.

I gotta disagree with you there, stadium arcadium was good, not their best, but good. They easily could have cut the album down to 1 disk, because there was some crap on there. I just wasnt a fan of kiedes on the album, he spewed alot of nonsense. Now One Hot Minute, that is a piece of garbage.

Fugazi- End Hits is a pretty bad album. Its a shame, it has some good songs, but its just not a fugazi album.

The Beatles- Rubber Soul. Again, a few good songs, but the rest isnt so great. I can listen to any beatles album straight through with pure enjoyment (even the white album with Bungalow Bill and Piggies), but i cannot for the life of me enjoy Rubber Soul.

Common- Universal Mind Control. How can you go from soulful hip hop to this crap? It was a sad attempt of trying to become more mainstream, you can tell this was for pure profit.

@SSully:  Hmmm perhaps, but what annoys me is that Stadium Arcadium is seen as THE album, By the Way is a million times better but didnt get anyway near the same reception.  And also as a Beatles-obssesive I have to wholly dis-agree with the rubber soul* statement, that album is brilliant from start to finish, atleast could have gone with Yellow Submarine or heck id have given you Let it be! ;)

Edit: Read it wrong, but sentiment still stands, rubber soul is still brilliant!

It has a few decent songs, but overall I came to the conclusion that Green was under par. Pinkerton and Blue may have set the bar too high, but I think it's more than that. When bassist Matt Sharp left, Weezer changed. Not the "we're experimenting with new sounds" change, but a "we're not the same without that guy" change.

Took the words out of my mouth.  It's kind of a post-Eminem world, and I think he's having a hard time figuring out what to do.  He's done angry, he's done drug-addled, he's done poor, he's done the problems of fame and being rich, he's done fart jokes, and he's done serial-killer fantasies.  What's left?  Oh, now he's done pop-sounding uplifting songs.  Better, but still can't compare to SSLP, MMLP, and the Eminem Show.

@uniform: I would say Weezer got bad after Maladroit. I didn't mind the Green Album, although uninspired. Make Believe is pretty shit, Red Album had some good ideas, but ultimately fell flat, and from what I heard from Raditude is :(

Do TOOL count since those were their first two albums and they've just got better and better? I thought it was about bands that've gone downhill.

Anyway, my contribution is The Prodigy - Invaders Must Die.  They came back together after a few years apart and though there are a couple of epic songs on there, most of the album is forgettable.

Misfits - Famous Monsters

The Misfits with Michale Graves were surprisingly good on American Psycho.  Then Famous Monsters came out and it just sounded like lounge music at an emo retirement home.

AC/DC - Stiff Upper Lip
Silverchair - Diorama
Korn - maybe it's just me as they seemed to get MORE popular after "Follow the Leader" but that's when I stopped liking their stuff.
The Offspring - Americana (*shudder*)
Blink 182 - Take off your pants & Jacket
Our Lady Peace - anything that came after "Clumsy"

And I SORT OF agree about Metallica - St Anger, although watching the "Some Kind of Monster" documentary really brought me back on this one. It has a unique appeal that is different than any other of their albums. Anyone who likes Metallica should  give it a watch.

@Red12b: Why they split? Kind of. You should fill me in on it, though, because what I know is hazy at best. What I totally didn't know is that they had a reunion thing a few years ago!

And yeah, I've heard some Che Fu stuff, mainly from Navigator. I work with a Kiwi lass, so there was no way I would miss out on hearing him.

@ZoomyRamen:   Yeah i know what you mean, whenever people talk about the chilli peppers they bring up stadium arcadium, which is fine to me, but their best stuff is from the 90's. I have yet to show someone Blood Suger Sex Magik and to have them tell me it was a bad album.
Oh man i dont even count Yellow Submarine or Let it be. I dont know, me and my friend talk about the beatles for hours on end. We have gotten into Rubber Soul so many times, and i keep giving it a chance, but i just cant get into it like i do with their other albums.
