Iv been thinking for ages now, you know how when you get an injection against a disease, theres dead or almost dead cells in the shot, once your body kills, or absorbs the dead cells, it makes a blueprint of the disease/virus, which stops you ever getting that disease again, hence why you only get chicken pox once.
Well, why the hel dont they inject someone with dead or weakened cancer cells so their body generates an immunity?
if any sciencey people here can explain that id be grateful.
Cure for Cancer. Or any disease for that matter.
Cancer is uncontrolled proliferation of cells caused in most cases by abnormalities in the genetic makeup of the cell. There is no immunity to cancer because it is not foreign cells, it is your own cells.
Ninja is right, you already have your own cells your body, no need to re-inject them unless you can make your body think they are not your own (and if it was able to do that, it's likely they would be different enough from normal cells that the uncontrolled growth wouldn't occur in the first place). Different types of cancer tend to be caused by completely different things, sometimes it's genetic, sometimes it's environmental stuff, sometimes we just have no clue or it's many things.
Well, there's obviously a reason why they dont do that....a reason we dont yet know, but good topic...
"Vaccinations work by injecting a weakened form of the virus into the body causing the body to attack this weakened form and destroy it.The body "remembers" the viral components and so it is prepared to respond , by neutralizing the target agent before it can enter cells, and by recognizing and destroying infected cells before that agent can multiply to vast numbers.FUCK!

"dreDREb13 said:We can cure certain kinds of cancer but not all. Look at skin cancer, it's one of the most come yet one of least lethal."Cancer's pretty much impossible to cure. But who knows."Well, more people are surviving cancer than ever before. Medical treatments for cancer has grown substantially in past years, so one day I'm confident we'll be able to conquer it.
"
We won't find a "cure" for caner because there's different sorts of cancer caused by different things...
