im looking for an mp3 player that
has 4 gigs + of memory
flash memory is preferrable, but hd is okay with me
good battery life
video/ picture viewing is unnecessary, but i still want to be able to easily navigate through menus
compact
xbox 360 compatible
im looking to the ipod nano, but its a rip off compared to others. suggestions? also im aware that ms points are used in the zune store, is it possible for me to use the ms point cards for xbox live?
good mp3 player? see description.
"Does it have to be iTunes compatible? Because that broadens the choice a lot..."not anymore, since im probably gonna back up everything i buy to cds and from there i can re-rip it and put it in my mp3 player.
I don´t know if Creative players are compatible with the 360, but they are awesome!! I would recommend one of them without hesitation
hmm, about the zune, can i use the ms points in my xbox live account there? also can i burn the music i buy to cds and re-rip them into drm free mp3s?
psp?
thats what i use for all that stuff, including streaming podcasts off the wireless connection.
Its not so compact though i guess, but it does play chains olympus and patapon.
As far as itunes compatible, fuck that, i use tunebite to rip all the drm off. Serously thats some bullshit monopoly there. If im going to pay for my music for a change, im not going to fucking be restricted to the ipod to listen to it.
"psp?i have one and i think they are pretty useless.

"I don´t know if Creative players are compatible with the 360, but they are awesome!! I would recommend one of them without hesitation"what online music services can you use with them?
A Zen V+ is your best bet. It's got up to 8 gigs (16 gig was discontinued), it's way smaller than a nano, good screen, radio, microphone, amazing battery life, easy navigation (not as easy as an IPod scroll wheel though), and it works with Microsoft products. It's excellent. I highly recommend it.
"hmm, about the zune, can i use the ms points in my xbox live account there? also can i burn the music i buy to cds and re-rip them into drm free mp3s?"Yes, you can use the points you already have. And all music on the Zune Marketplace is DRM free, so when you buy any, you can do whatever you want with them. I wouldn't recommend getting a zune pass though.
