Just bought a car! Opinions?
I just purchased a 1998 Chevy Blazer. it ended up being a great pick, because it only had 167,000 miles i believe.
The interior/Exterior is excellent, it has a cd player and cassette player. The four wheel drive worked fine and so did the two wheel drive.
the tires on it were excellent and ready for tons of roadtrips even a spare in the back. there are tinted windows on this vehicle and it has 6 speakers.
Only for $3000. Yes it is a gas hog but i plan to do many things that would warrent the use of the vehicle. Also before i bought the car, i ran a Vin check on it and the only thing that turned up was that it was in a auction because of someones lien on the vehicle. It works great, took it for a taste drive. Apparently there were no terrible accidents or water damage all that good stuff on the vin number. however it had been sitting there or the car died, but the alternator is good. So a battery isn't a burden to me.
By the way, i didn't like the mountain of Text!
"ONLY 167k miles? hahahahaha "
Well the reason i say that is because my nissan was 157k and only paid $2200 for it. Problem is, it already broke down but it wasn't because of the engine. just small problems i was unaware of. turned out to be bigger ones over time. and its a chevy, i can take it to any dealer and get it fixed. unlike that nissan, I had to find someone who had a OBD I scanner.
Yeah I hate to rain on your parade, but you could have found a much better deal elsewhere. An 11 year old gas guzzler that has 167k miles on it is quite pricey at three grand.
Although I might not be a fan of the car, I won't critique your purchase. Mainly because:
A) A car is a car. As long as it drives and has reasonably good mileage, no reason to compain.
B) You can drive, and I can't by myself for another six - seven months.
Not a bad car either. Dunno about the mileage part, but from the picture, it looks to be in good shape. Don't know until you start driving though, eh? I don't know much about cars, but I'm sure you could have found a better deal. But whatever, a car is a car, right?
Have fun driving.
"It works great, took it for a taste drive."How did it taste? Sorry wasn't trying to be a dick. I just thought it sounded funny.
" $3000 ain't bad, dude. And don't worry about the mileage. For the deal you got, it's worth it. "Are people aware you can get brand new decent vehicles that get 35+ MPG for well under 10k now? That way you are stimulating the economy and helping the environment. And considering that Suburban probably gets like 10 MPG in the end it will probably be a wash price-wise.
Blazers were such cool cars in their day and 3000$ is worth it. My brother bought a blazer too, his has heated seats :)

Yes, but everyone can't afford to finance unfortunately. 10k is quite a bit for someone like me because of the situation i am involved in. Also i plan on trying out the hydrogen gas thing thats got wide spread attention.
lol"took it for a taste drive. "
I am soon going to buy a car for around 3000 dollars too, but I need a gas saver.
" @septim said:That is a Blazer not a Suburban. BIG difference my friend. Blazers are actually small compared to a full size car (my impala dwarfs a blazer footprint wise). Its a 6 cylinder and probably gets low 20s/high teens mileage wise. Not a bad car but too many miles." @damnboyadvance said:Yes, but everyone can't afford to finance unfortunately. 10k is quite a bit for someone like me because of the situation i am involved in. That is a Sweet ass Car i must say. American Cars are so big and i wish we had more here in Ireland.
I bought one myself recently! Well not a Blazer but a Merc.
A 1994 Mercedes E380 with a Classic Carlson Body Kit. It's pretty sweet, but the sunroof is jammed in the rubber so it won't open :(
But it's worth it, €850.
" @damnboyadvance said:No, I would disagree. Some people don't keep their car that long. If this guy doesn't keep his car that long, it'll be worth it." $3000 ain't bad, dude.
