Louis C.K.'s new special is on and its hilarious.
Who are Giantbomb's favorite stand-up comdeians?
Daniel Tosh
Louis C.K
Patton Oswalt
The Sklarbros
Louis C.K.
I don't like stand-up comedy because it feels too forced (probably because it is forced). I haven't watched a stand-up comedian in years.
" I don't like stand-up comedy because it feels too forced (probably because it is forced). I haven't watched a stand-up comedian in years. "CK has a show on FX that I really like. And his style is very not forced, I always feel like he's just talking off the top of his head.
I'm too lazy to check if my picks are already on here (probably are lol)
In no real order just as I remember them ( also I'm bad at lists >.>;;;)
Louis C.K.
Lewis Black
Dennis Leary
Eddie Izzard
George Carlin
Dave Attell
Patton Oswald
Gabriel Iglesias
Jim Gaffigan
Sam Kinison
Brian Regan
Probably a bunch more. There are also plenty of people I've seen on comedy central over the years that I wouldn't necessarily are my favorites but that I've certainly enjoyed.
I love me some Louis C.K. That FX show is freaking awesome.
I use to love Dennis Leary until I discovered Bill Hicks. Now I can't even look at Dennis Leary without disgust.
Favorite dead comedians - George Carlin, Richard Pryor, Mitch Hedberg, and of course Bill Hicks
As for living comedians I like that haven't shown up on anyone's list - Hannibal Buress, Kyle Kinane, Greg Fitzsimmons, David Cross, Doug Stanhope, Bill Burr, James Fritz, Mike Birbiglia, Sarah Silverman, Maria Bamford, Brian Posehn, Jim Jeffries, Patrick Melton, T.J. Miller, and Junior Stopka to name a few.
Comedians I can't stand - Dane Cook, Dimitri Martin, Charlie Murphy, Joe Rogan, Iliza Schlesinger, George Lopez, Jay Mohr, Jim Bruer, Jeff Dunham, Ellen Degeneres, every one ever associated with the Blue Collar Comedian Tour thingie, Robin WIlliams (great dramatic actor though) and Carlos Mencia.
Forgot Russell Brand that has to be one of the worst stand-up specials ever made.
Louis C.K. is easily my favorite stand-up comedian. Pretty sure everyone has mentioned my other favorites but here they are anyway:
Brian Regan
Dave Chapelle
Mitch Hedberg
George Carlin
Zach Galifianakis
I used to really like Jim Gaffigan but he does that high pitched whispering stuff way too often now.
Katt Williams is hilarious. I've always thought black comedy was funny, but Katt makes it work by applying it to non-black humor as well. Louis CK works because his comedy is just conversational, situational humor that just feels natural and his boiling hate is so funny. I always thought Bill Maher was funny as hell. I love his show, but his comedy is great, too. George Lopez is hilarious as well. His best piece is "Why You Cryin'?" Kevin Hart is so goddamn funny. I'm always falling over, dying, when I watch his stuff. I'm sure I'm missing a couple, but whatevs.
not a huge fan of Louis C.K., but i'm more indifferent than anything. my favorite stand-up comedians would be (in no particular order):
George Carlin
Bill Hicks
Dave Chappelle
Daniel Tosh
Mitch Hedberg
Lewis Black
Brian Posehn
Patton Oswalt
Richard Pryor
Brian Regan
Chris Rock
Jim Gaffigan
Hannibal Buress
Like someone said, Louis CK is pretty much the best out right now. He's a machine. I also think Daniel Tosh doesn't get enough credit. I mean he's popular and all, but you never hear comedians talk about him. To me, right now he's one of the best. The kid is amazingly clever.
Other favorites of mine would have to be: David Cross, Stella, Jim Gaffigan, Eugene Mirman, Patton Oswalt, Sarah Silverman, Chappelle. It's hard to come up with comedians off the top of your head, ha.
