New Star Wars Battlefront 3 footage shows first 3 missions

once again from borman18. he shows off the first 3 campaign missions from the free radical build off star wars battlefront 3. of course they are shoddy since this assumed to be pre alpha footage and there is no dialogue recordings yet and very bad textures.

and yes this version of the game is cancelled.

If that's all it was I'm kind of glad to be honest. Just looks like it was going to be the same game as before with slightly better graphics. I really hope if/when they do a new one they really blow it out of the water and take it to the next level and polish the hell out of it.

Argh I want a new Battlefront so badly.

@connerthekewlkid: I'm just wondering, wasn't this game being made with the CryEngine at one point? I remember back in 07 or 09 I saw this game's stage concepts made with the CryEngine.

@connerthekewlkid: No, well, I wasn't stating what is shown in this video is CryEngine, I was referring to what I think I saw last time I saw anything about this game.

@connerthekewlkid: I have been doing that since I read this, I can't find anything on that. I swear it was the CryEngine though, 'cause it was around the time I was looking at concepts for Crysis 2. To tell you the truth, I'm not into Star Wars Battlefront, those are the only Star Wars games I don't have, I'm not even a huge Star Wars fan, I just thought I'd post here and give my thoughts. I'll keep looking to see if I can find what I saw then.

I'd love to see a new Battlefront, and the initial builds looked interesting and promising, but if that crowd who made Operation Raccoon City get their hands on it, I'm out. This is a great series, it deserves a proper dev team, a good budget, and lot of love.

There were some cool ideas floating around, maybe if we get a third game, they'll implement them...maybe.

@Dookysharpgun: it would be a saving grace if slant six made it the rumored developer of the game now is spark unlimited which made turning point fall of liberty and legendary(which was i guess okay)

@connerthekewlkid: So it basically comes down to the AVP tagline of 'Whoever wins, we lose' then? Christ...this series has a pretty damn big following, why would they hand it off to second rate devs? I hope this ends up just being rumours, I can't stand seeing such a great series getting a shafting...there's been far too much of that going on the past few years.

Yeah I just re-read the first post and saw that this verison was cancelled. I was just overfilled with joy and scroleld down to post a reply immediately lol.

@senorfuzzeh: I deem that a totally worthy reaction, anytime I see anything to do with Battlefront 3, I feel a sense of boyish elation...and then reality kicks in and boots my joy in the arse.

Apparently there was a domain name registered for the game last year...so we'll have to wait and see how that plays out.

I don't think LucasArts really know what they're doing. I'm still waiting for Republic Commando 2 and Jedi Knight 4 in addition to a third Battlefront.

But then I'm also waiting for Freedom Fighters 2, so clearly I'm insane.

@TheHT: I think you're pretty much right, that Lucasarts don't know what they're doing, and that you're insane...but I'm insane too, so it's ok, because I'm holding out a kind of false hope that, if shattered, will cause me to break down in such a fashion that I will actually require a straight-jacket and many, many pills...

I'd love to see a Republic Commando 2 and Jedi Knight 4 though...they were some of the most entertaining games I ever played! But yes, LucasArts ran TFU into the ground, and the only noteworthy thing they've released, noteworthy because it's an abomination, is that Kinect game...and it makes me sick just thinking about it.

@connerthekewlkid: I dunno really, I mean...if we say legendary was an ok game, and that turning point was a piss-poor game, it doesn't give me that much confidence you know? Even so, I'll try some optimism and say third time is the charm, and they already have the template for the game already, so all they have to concern themselves with involves the graphics, refining the gameplay and designing some new maps and whatnot.

Instead, we just got an awesome Kinect: Star Wars, complete with a dancing game. Rejoice!
