Via Fangoria:
As a fan of the series, I'm slightly skeptical of anyone touching Silent Hill 3 as a movie. The first one wasn't bad by any means, but it wasn't exactly great either. I guess having Michael Bassett attached as a writer is a good sign though - for anyone who saw Solomon Kane, I thought it was a great movie.Fango’s Tony Timpone just reported in from the American Film Market with news that the long-mooted new SILENT HILL feature is finally ready to go. And no surprise, it’s going to be hitting screens with an extra dimension.
SILENT HILL: REVELATION 3D in currently in preproduction with Lionsgate, Konami and Davis Films and producers Samuel Hadida and Don Carmody. This entry in the video-game-based movie franchise will be written and directed by Michael J. Bassett, whose credits include DEATHWATCH and WILDERNESS; original HILL scripter Roger Avary was previously set to encore before his recent troubles with the law. Here’s the REVELATION synopsis: “For years, Heather Mason and her father have been on the run, always one step ahead of dangerous forces that she doesn’t fully understand. Now on the eve of her 18th birthday, plagued by terrifying nightmares and the disappearance of her father, Heather discovers she’s not who she thinks she is. The revelation leads her deeper into a demonic world that threatens to trap her in Silent Hill forever.” We’ll keep you posted on further updates.
