Today is the today, ladies and gentlemen! Today is the official kickoff of the newest season of college football! If you like college football, you can discuss all about it here in this thread. If you want to talk about sometimes else, then leave(no, seriously, leave). But if you want to talk about your favorite college team, USC getting bitch slapped by the NCAA, Alabama's road to repeat, or North Carolina's impending doom, then you've come to the right place!
Even though this is football, please keep the discuss somewhat civil, guys. Other than than, enjoy the brand spanking new college football season!

Here's hoping for another 7-5 season and another random bowl game in Tennessee.
Haha, seriously though, I hope we kill Louisville.
I hope Rutgers can get back to at least a 10 win season and maybe a BCS appearance. Alright, that was way too much to ask.
I hope Rutgers can at least beat West Virginia this year. Alright, that was probably way too much to ask as well. I can't even remember the last time they beat WVU (assuming they actually have).
Come on Rutgers?
Michigan is my team! But they really need a comeback, and I've heard some people say this year could be a decent year. The first step is to get rid of Rich Rod. It's gone downhill since he's started coaching. He's a horrible coach.
" @CitizenKane: Yes. He's actually had very decent recruiting classes, but still managed to mess things up. "Michigan will always get at least good recruiting classes, no matter how bad they are. Same with Notre Dame. There are still kids around the country who want to play for those schools just to play for those schools because of the history they represent.
" Roll Tide Roll!!!!Sorry I had to be that guy... "yeah, Roll Tide motherfuckers!
Too bad theres no way in hell we can pull off 2 decent seasons in a row.
Also, perversely, We Are Penn State! [its my fiance's alama mater, and if I don't root for them against anyone but bama, I'll get hit]
" @damnboyadvance said:Hmm, that's makes sense. I think it also helps show that the kids aren't the one to blame, at least completely." @CitizenKane: Yes. They have okay recruiting classes. They've seen a severe drop in talent in the past decade because, frankly, they aren't that big anymore. More players want to play at Florida, Texas, USC, LSU, schools like that.
Crazy game going on in Utah. 24-21 Utah (anyone beating Pittsburgh is good by me).
:03 left, 30 yard field goal and they kick it. It's good, but a timeout is called.
Field goal again, this time it misses, another timeout is called.
Third and final field goal and it's good. Now we're in OT. I hope Utah can pull out the win.
24-24.
Florida looked completely incompetent on offense. It was seriously the worst thing I have seen in a while.
Yeah I agree with Citizen Kane about UF. As a huge Florida fan I have to say that we looked pretty terrible on offense. We looked pretty good on the defensive side of the ball especially our secondary but it was against lowly Miami of Ohio. I think our offense has nowhere to go, but up so that's the most promising thing I got from the whole game.
Reggie Bush will be stripped of his Heisman Trophy and the 2005 year left vacant.

Yes, I did pull them directly from ESPN.com...
Oh and on a side note, go Utes!
Oregon has a much harder path this year than last with possible stumbling blocks @ 4-5 games depending on what Tenn team shows up. But that is the least of the worries.
Stanford and USC will be tough this year luckily we have 1 of the 2 @ home. And Washington might catch us sleeping after what is no doubt going to be a tough game @ LA. And like last year the Rose Bowl (if not greater) could be decided with the Civil War game like it has the past two years.
I really hope that Ore. st. bounces back into the top 25 and no better way than beating Boise St. in two weeks which will solve all kinds of problems 1. eliminate boise st. for NC talks 2. bump up the SoS for the ducks and allows us to get close to the top of the polls 3. Soften any future loses that beavers might have (stanford, USC) who they play before us in succession.
Barely finished with Week 1 and all ready the season is interesting.
I think this topic should be stickied on the off-topic forum, as well as the NFL Discussion thread.
Anyways, if you haven't watched a Michigan game yet, you should soon, or at least see some highlights. Denard Robinson, their starting QB, is kicking some serious butt right now. Wikipedia helps sum it up around 3.4.3. In just 2 games this year, he already has well over 400 yards rushing, nearly 900 yards of total offense, 5 touchdowns, 0 turnovers, and has broken the Michigan records for total offense, twice. He accounted for all but 30 yards of Michigan's 532 yards of offense against Notre Dame yesterday, had the most rushing yards in a Big Ten single-game, and the longest TD run ever at Notre Dame Stadium. This is all in just 2 games, which Michigan won. He is only a sophomore, and he is already bringing the Michigan program back to it's winning roots. Definitely a competitor for the Heisman trophy, if not a front runner.
Bump for people.
Let's just say is Jacory Harris wasn't fucking retarded, Miami would have beaten Ohio State. Oh well, at least the ACC appears to be god awful and Miami should win it and get to a BCS game.
Whoever pinned this, a huge thank you!
EDIT: By the way, I have a better gut feeling for Georgia Tech than Georgia U...

They did an awesome job against Kentucky yesterday, but I'm a bit worried about 'Bama next week.
I'm worried a little bit about Alabama next week as well but there defense looked rather pedestrian against Arkansas and with Trey Burton kind of coming out I think it might give us a little wrinkle they might not be completely prepared for. We will see this weekend. Go Gators!!!
Awesome to see all the Oregon fans in this thread, we put the hurt on Stanford and the way USC is playing I'd be more worried about UCLA after the way they beat Texas in Austin the way they did. Going to be an interesting year with the 3 way race for the NC game between Ore, Boise, and OSU.
