Features of the GameSpot forums. System Wars is basically the one forum where the trolls are allowed to run wild and free, while unions were user-created sub-communities, essentially.
Some sort of union or group system would be fun, you get to meet people with common interests, but I don't think System Wars would be a good idea though.
There's no real point to unions. There will just end up being a bunch of random useless unions with only a couple members each. If you want to discuss something, whatever it is, there's already a message board for it here.

I don't think the answer to that is to make a place where a bunch of people can just argue the same points to no end.
Unions were kind of cool, but I think that Giant Bomb can come up with some stuff of their own. Give them some time to come up with their own features. I'm sure the site will come out with some more community stuff in the near future.
Unions have been discussed more than once before on these forums and the general consensus has been that they would only really serve to push the community apart. As for system wars I'm really not behind that idea, the main purpose it seemed to serve back on Gamespot was to attempt to contain all the closed-minded, aggressive fanboys in one place, I really don't think we need a place for an endless argument over which system is better and I think the large majority of the members of this site respect that each other have differing opinions and no one opinion is more right than another.
@Bombs_Away: well I haven't been on this website for about a year,but after returning this site isn't all that peaceful imo.I think something new should be added though to attract new posters and bring old alike

Going by this, I'd have to say nah; the GB format is fine as is. It sounds to me a little like the Something Awful boards, and while having sub-forums is a neat idea, I just don't think it would fit here somehow.

Both. System wars was a mistake and just brings out the worst in people. Unions seem kinda pointless because even though the amount of people on the forums has increased, it still feels like a small enough community that you could find people with similar interests as you with no problem. This site has done a pretty good job in keeping out idiots and morons who believe such trite shit matters. For one, it does not matter which console is the best since again, it is a stupid and honestly pandering to your audience move and second, it just creates a terrible environment on forums since people will act like assholes
@Iceman2913: 1) This is NOT Gamespot. Not being Gamespot is one of Giantbomb's biggest strengths. 2) System Wars is ridiculous. You seem to be under the illusion that negative activity is better than no activity at all. Not only is that illusion just that, an illusion, but the community is already plenty active. 3) Not only would unions FRAGMENT the community here, but it would also be a huge amount of work for the engineers behind the site.
@Gamer_152: Idk what has been discussed in the past since I have been absent for a while,but I do agree sw is a bad idea for now.. and I am glad we have so many active posters I only made this thread like 5 minutes ago and look at the response.
