..has produced this. It became bloated with noises that were generated by the unforeseen consequences of having multiple synths on different channels combining their subtle discordant features into a melange of almost occult proportions.

But I sorted that out. I'm still not completely happy with how it turned out, but I've got rid of most of the parts I don't like. Give it a listen, won't you!

Subatomic by Tebbit

Interesting factoid: most of this song is constructed with the same instruments I used to make the intern podcast music! The more you know.

I like it, and I don't even really care for that kind of music. Very well reserved. Not too much going on but enough to make it interesting. Lasts a little too long though, but I think that's how this kind of music is, right? I like the build up towards the end. Really feels like it could be a track to a movie or game. I could really see a visual story accompanying this track. Good job @Tebbit:

@Jams: I thought it might be a little long, especially if it isn't a background sorta thing. Glad you enjoyed it though!

The piece was quite exquisite. Though long it was suitable. It feels like music for a level in an old school platformer. Also bass and whammy bar were top notch!

I'm not someone who listens to music without vocals but this was pretty cool.

The bass was hot as shit and I love the use of the whammy bar. The synths got me all kinds of excited.

Never before have I seen such deft use of the bass and/or whammy bar. A tour de force.

For some reason I immediately felt like this is the song that should be playing in the background of Minecraft.

The drums sound like something right off of Pretty Hate Machine (not a bad thing). I like it, you've got some skill.

@Terry_Bogard FL Studio, because it's super easy to use!
@HS21 I knew those whammology courses would pay off some day.
@SumDeus I just totally made that happen. It made me feel strangely claustrophobic in the caverns.
@anarchyzombie9 Thanks! I have been listening to an inordinate amount of NIN recently, so that'll explain the drums!
@yinstarrunner with any luck, I'll be ripping it into a kick-ass custom Doom wad!

Every time that I try to use FL I get frustrated and don't totally know what I'm doing. Is there some sort of all-encompassing tutorial I could read, perhaps with some audio/visual aids?

I fucking love it.  It's not really like it but it reminds me of the music from Shadowfire on the C64.

It's pretty good, from someone else who usually doesn't listen to this kind of music.

I feel like it should be in the last level of an indie game somewhere.

@Mike76x: Now there's an endorsement I can put on the album cover!

@H2Oyea: Frankly, I don't know how to use 99% of the functions FL Studio offers. Most of the time, all you have to do is 1: Find an instrument you like from the panel on the left. 2: Drag it onto the Step Sequencer. Right click on the instrument in the step sequencer and click Piano Roll, then make a pattern. Instant music!

@Terry_Bogard: Heck yes it does.

@WickedFather: That music is awesome! Why haven't I heard of this game before?!

@laserbolts: Well thanks!

@Zombie_Shakespeare: One day...

@TheHT: Guaha! Thanks :)

@Yorick: I aim to please.

Nice one. I actually like how drawn out it is, makes for a very drifting mood.

Also reminds me I still need to buy some synthesizers.

@Tebbit: I decided to start making "music" again. Let me know what you think, duder! It was probably a mistake adding the Robotoid voice to JungleSex.

@Yorick: That is potentially more times than I have! When I make it big, you'll get a free album ;)

@BBQBram: If you mean virtual ones, all my stuff is free (legally free, that is). If you mean real, physical synthesisers, there lays the dark path to immortality!!! Also, coolness.

@Aarny: Yeah, they are very recognisable, that's for sure! I just downloaded some new samples, so hopefully next time there'll be some fresher snares :)

@bigmuffpi: BWUMMMMMPH. Thanks!

Frankly, it would have been a mistake to not add Robotoid! That applies to pretty much everything! I enjoyed JungleSex (*teehee*), but what I liked far more was Rebuild Him, I reckon with a layer or two (or a rap (!!!)) thrown over the top that'd be killer. Not to dump on your older stuff, but you've really got a lot better with your beats this time round (in my humble opinion).

I deleted JungleSex yesterday because I didn't think anyone would like it. And I'm glad you think I've improved.

I'd say leave it up there, there's probably someone out there who'll really dig it. For example, Intern Ben likes my Neon Highway II, despite the critical yawn it got when I posted it on these forums!
