Been lying in bed for 5 hours and nothing... Really tired but cant drift off!

Should I bother trying now? Need to be up in 2 hours anyway for school... Gonna be a fun day. Hopefully the snow around here will close it...

Push-ups, NOW!

NO don't stop, keep at it your not tired enough!

Bend those elbows!

Tired enough to sleep?

Get off your computer and go to bed.

That was all a silly facade, though push-ups will help.

@SuperSambo:
Do a power nap, for 20 mins, just close your eyes,

And then ride the day, at around noon you'll more than likely start to fall asleep, fun!

Man, I know what that's like. Everyone's a bit different but my advice would be don't go to sleep, myself and most people I know in your position would just wake up more tired than if they hadn't slept. I'm in the UK too and haven't slept, but I slept during the day yesterday and don't have anywhere to be today or tomorrow.

Lay in bed for those 2 hours, you will appreciate it later on.

I would agree with this.

Whenever I would not be able to sleep all night and have to get up for school, I would at least lay down in bed for a while and watch t.v. You might get drowsy, but you probably won't fall asleep. Then take a shower before you leave. You'll probably start crashing sometime around noon or 1pm, but you can probably manage to stay up long enough to finish the day and go home.

Then again, by now you probably have like, an hour left. Take a shower in a half hour.

Well in the unlikely case that anyone cares...

School was closed and I fell asleep for 2 hours (by accident)

Feel like crap now but looking forward to sleep tonight!

God... I know what it's like. I usually end up falling asleep at 3PM because I can't take it anymore and fuck up my sleeping patterns even more. :|

I always forget that all-nighting is awful but at the 4-5am mark I get a horrible reminder. One way I fall asleep is listening to the Bombcast with the lights off in bed.

I routinely stay up all night. Then, I take a few hours of sleep in the morning before classes, and a nap in the afternoon. Polyphasic sleep for the win.

I just finished college and got by on very little sleep. I found that I could actually be really productive after a quick nap, and that If i only had 4 hours a day to sleep, it was better to break that into 3 chunks rather than in one long sleep. The thing you want to avoid is sleeping too long, because it takes your body about an hour and a half to enter REM sleep (deep sleep), at which point your mind fatigues. If you wake up before then, your body will have rested, but you can get back to an awake state fairly quickly. An hour and a half of sleep with be better than 3 hours of sleep, so I say, YES, go back to bed.

I've been sick all night with a fever...so kinda in the same boat. Just try to go to bed. Seeing as how you're on the computer, maybe tug one off real quick. That usually makes a guy tired enough to fall asleep.

Edit: Well okay maybe if it was still 10 hours ago? If that's the case hope you're sleeping like a baby now!

Whenever I get the chance, I stay up until I crash, which usually happens around 11am. Though I did sleep 'til 9pm the next day one time. Which wasn't that awesome.

Sleeping pills. I pulled some crazy shit yesterday. Fell asleep at 6:20 and got up at 6:45. Overslept. Went back to sleep got up at 7:03. Left for school. Completely missed my light because I was so out of it. Bad idea.

Didn't sleep all night, and the alarm sounds in one hour. I am not going to sleep, that would be bad.

The last time I pulled an all nighter I felt really tired all day, not like I was going to fall asleep but I just had no energy, I was hoping I would get an early night and get my sleeping cycle back on track, but as soon as night came I was fully awake and ended up staying up till 4 the next morning.
