Trying to see who I can talk about sports here with
So who here watches sports?

NBA - Chicago Bulls, Phoenix Suns
NFL - Chicago Bears, New England Patriots

Baseball isn't a sport.
Oh and the ASL is very entertaining to watch. Sure, the teams suck when it comes to the FIFA Cup, but they've got the best passing skills. Their matches are just intense.
I know all of the rules, I know most of the sports, I can play most of them too - pretty well in fact.
However, I rarely watch any of them.
The only sport I watch regularly is hockey.

In comparison, baseball doesn't seem like a sport at all. Hypothetically, you could ask a random person on the street if they knew about the biggest international baseball competition and they wouldn't know. Soccer on the other hand...
"Football here, no, its not called 'soccer'."Why? it's football 99% of the countries out there, and 99% > 1%

Those are some impressive numbers, but I'd like to see them be country, because most Super Bowls generate in the 80-90 millions from US alone.
Even though Super Bowls are globally broadcasted, most of it is from the US (ratings wise), FIFA is worldwide, most from the rest of the world.
"Those are some impressive numbers, but I'd like to see them be country, because most Super Bowls generate in the 80-90 millions from US alone."I read elsewhere that it's like an average of 95 million in the US and then a further 5 million for the rest of the world. I mean obviously it IS shown in other countries but from my experiences it's really relegated to the "lesser channels" (that's here in the UK anyway).
I don't know anyone that watches the Super Bowl in this country though. I'm sure people do but obviously it's just a big cultural difference that it's not widely appreciated here.
Presumably (/obviously ;) ) the US figures for Superbowl smash the US figures for the World Cup final though.
I'm glad you Americans don't like football/soccer too much though. If you took it seriously you'd no doubt dominate at it similarly to the way you dominate the olympics -- obviously because you have better systems in place and a much bigger pool of talent to choose from.
As it stands though, no decent American football/soccer team means my beloved England might scoop a World Cup in my lifetime. Or probably not actually ;)
