The Giant Bomb **Official** UK A-Level exam results thread

I know there's a lot of UK-ers out there in the GB community so I thought I'd make a thread in anticipation of tomorrow's results day. 
 
In this thread you can post your predictions, results, subjects, potential university placements and all that other stuff. 
 
I'll start it off, My worst case scenario is Media: B ICT: C Sociology: C and my best case scenario is Media: A ICT: B Sociology: A. 
 
I need ABB to get into Manchester Uni (my first choice) and BBC to get into York (my insurance choice).

I just got my results from the Irish equivalent (The leaving Cert) and while my results were far from stellar, I did get enough to go and study history in Trinity College Dublin.

I'm hoping for an A and two Bs. I worked too fucking hard on my coursework and revised too much to see myself get any less.
 
Also, I still haven't decided what University I'm going to. Go me.

I've done mine but my gf is a year younger, if she fails, I get a morbid gf for a while =(

Hopefully that Manchester is awesome because it is. Horrible Weather but awesome. Im getting my GCSE results next week so im nervous for that :s Hope everyone gets the grades they want! "

I'm hoping for 4 A's (in AS', not A2s). that;s what I'm predicted, anyway, but damn son, maths is hard. Doubt I'll've got more then a B in that, and English and History seem to depend more on whether the examiner is in a good enough mood to accept your opinion on the day he marks your exam so anything goes with that. My 4th subject is computing, pretty sure I got an A in that.

I actually live here. It's crazy son! "

I live very close to Manchester - between Warrington and Manchester. I love Manchester and will be living in the absolute centre of the city (1 minute from Piccadilly :)) "

I'm not going to be able to go to Manchester this year. I will be able to go to York though!!!!!! :) York is actually technically quite a bit better than Manc, but wow, York! Haven't got my grades yet (you know wether you have been succesful getting in before you get your grades) but I'm stoked. It is pretty scary that I won't know anyone in town, are there any Giant Bombers I can meet up with for a pint/gaming session.

Well done to everyone who got the grades they wanted - or at least enough to get in to Uni!
 
And if you didn't - relax and refocus. It really isn't the end of the world, there is always some other way :)

In the States it's just A-F...much similar.

I got ABC, I needed BBB to get into Warwick for biology, but the C (NEARLY B) was in biology so they rejected me. 
 
Got into Birmingham though, for the same course!         Now im off to town to get fucking smashed.

Sociology: A 
ICT: D 
Media: B 
 
Was 10 marks off an A in Media and 2 marks off a C in ICT. If I would have got those extra marks I'd be going to Manchester - but 1000+ people applied for my course and there are only 60 odd places so anything less than the minimum wouldn't get you in. Fucking recession. Still, York University is the 11th best Uni in the country (according to the Times guide) and the 5th best for my course. 
 
I'm pretty happy with my results and hope to see some Yorkshire-Giant Bombers next year!

A = Amazing 
B = Great 
C = Good 
D = Not so bad
E = Bad
U = Very Bad  
There are a few other things like S or L or stuff like that but that's all techincal stuff like "Didn't turn up" or "Illness during exam" or something like that. "

I finally got my results and I got a C in Film Studies! I can't believe it! I'm so happy about it. :D

I failed hard. I'm retaking the year. Whoo!

Is there absolutley anyone here going to York Uni, or that other Uni in York?...in fact, are there ANY Giant Bombers in York? I'd be awesome to meet someone from here while I'm new in town!
