The Secret Life of the American Teenager: total bullsh**

Whoever wrote that show has never been to high school or met anyone that ever went to high school. My twelve year-old sister watches it and it is killing her youth, innocence and knowledge of what it is like to be a teenager. Now she thinks she is going to a "band geek", get pregnant, and find her mother cheating on her father.

It should be about a 16 year-old guy that writes on Giant Bomb and is really geeky. Mainly because, it would be all about me.

Its a pretty depressing show to watch no matter how you view it.  It tried as hard as it could to make me not want to have sex.

Moved to OT and yes shows like this tend to suck, the best thing you can do for your sister is turn the TV off when it comes on.

It's over-dramaticized, but these things happen to teenagers. Shows like this, however, make kids feel as though these things will definitely happen to you, like getting pregnant at 15 is the next step.

Well that's why then. Living in many parts of the world in my life thus far, from poor to ghetto to rich to average. It really depends on where you go. Last school I went to, which is in Katy (edge of Houston), in a fairly average location in a fairly large and diverse school. What they say about teenagers for the most part is true, just on different levels. When was the last time you went to highschool? It's not an easy world to live in, harder then even adult jobs at times, but again it all depends on where and when.

The show is just playing off a stereotype that is only partially true. Teenage girls, middle age woman, and gays eat it up.

I know what you mean.  Kids these days get the wrong impressions on what life should be with their MTVs and naughty music.  What we need is to teach our kids some good ole fashion Christian values, I tell you what.
