What do you guys think, should've Pink Floyd's "The Wall" won the grammy, or was this better?
Really not liking what I'm hearing of this Christopher Cross guy. But I think that The Wall, while it was a great album, is definitely not Pink Floyd's best. I don't really know much other from 1981 (perhaps I do but don't know the exact year) but there was probably better music coming out.

Sounds as though you don't recognize who he is. You might know him more from one of his most famous songs. Maybe not.
BTW, Pink Floyd deserved it.

It's easy to say Pink Floyd now because of the legacy, but without having lived in 1980 it's impossible to discuss this. You can't separate an award from the time period in which it was given.
For the record I though the other song was alright (no pun intended), though I would need to hear the entire album.
Cross also won the Academy Award for Best Song in 1981 for "Arthur's Theme (The Best that You Can Do)"
LOL the Grammy awards are the worst awards on the earf....and not just because of this but because of every year ever....
I don't listen to Pink Floyd, so I can't really comment on which album was more deserving, but I do like to listen to some Christopher Cross every now and then.
Also, Pink Floyd is just as boring as Christopher Cross most of the time.
This is 81's best album:
I would also accept No Sleep Til Hammersmith.
The Grammy's are all about money, or more specifically, celebrating music that made a lot of money. Better records were released in 1981 anyways. The Wall's a pretty divisive album, not necessarily one of their seminal works.
Edit: I forgot that the Wall was actually released in 1979, my point still stands though.
Want to know what should have won the Grammy that year? Motherfucking Moving Pictures.
@PenguinDust: Then Billie Jean was recorded a year later & changed everything.Very true. MTV and Michael Jackson were a perfect fit and each profited from their synergistic relationship.

Nobody cares about the Grammy Awards.
Yeah, pretty much. I wouldn't get too bent out of shape. I know how it feels, though, to have your favorite artist snubbed. Metallica's "One" losing to Jethro Tull anyone?
Pink zzzzzz. I'm not a fan of that boring type of music nor am I a fan of the artists of that era. Bunch of pussies if you ask me.
And "Chariots of Fire" beat out "Raiders of the Lost Ark" for best picture.
Life is full of injustices.
Good, that'll show Roger Waters for shoving his head so far up his own ass that it destroyed the group.
Want to know what should have won the Grammy that year? Motherfucking Moving Pictures. That's a fine album.

Well really, "Best Picture of 1981" is kind of a piddling award to give Raiders.
Want to know what should have won the Grammy that year? Motherfucking Moving Pictures.FUCK YES. As sick as I am of Tom Sawyer at this point, that album's still miles better than The Wall or anything else I've seen suggested so far.
