What are your religious views?
A lot of folks who are religious, at least it seems, have a "relationship" with their deity. They say that they can feel it and stuff. I've never felt anything like that. I dunno if that's on me or not; I tried to to read the Bible but found it bizarre and a little uncomfortable at spots. The whole idea of religion is really odd and confusing to me. I try to be as rational as I can when it comes to supernatural stuff so I'm really skeptical, but I also can't rule it out completely, so I'm agnostic. I used to be pretty chummy with Christianity as a kid but when the uglier parts/organizations of the belief system came to my attention, like hell (or the shunning of LGBT people, or weird racism) I backed away pretty quick cause that entire concept is one of the most insane and plain ol mean things I've ever heard of.
That being said I know of plenty of people who identify as Christian and are really nice and appear to be well adjusted, and I know that there are those who believe that everybody gets to go to Heaven after they die. It's a nice idea. I like it. I hope that's a thing (although any eternity in which I have a consciousness seems like eventually it'd make me go totally insane so it's still confusing to me). Despite not being much of a faithful person, I take some of the morality to heart, like the whole do unto others as you would have them do unto you thing. And those're my religious views.

It's really hard to get rid of the child inside that has the beliefs you were raised to believe, so I'm more or less a muslim inside with muslim beliefs. I believe God is up there etc.... But I'm very skeptical of the whole thing, not a fan, don't really care for the whole deal.
I worship the sun and pray to Joe Pesci.
I don't believe in anything but I want to. In some way. Maybe I'm just more interested in something supernatural rather than a god in itself. I have a hard time not looking down upon religious fanatics. I'm talking fanatic-fanatics though. Not hatin' on yer average religious person. Unless that person also happens to be real stupid.
I see this topic going really well.
I'm a Christian and proud of it, but I will not shove that down anyone's throat.
Despite what would be questionable activities and not really the bible as much as I should:
I'm proud to say, I'm a Christian and I love God woohoo!
Atheist
My parents never tried to instill any kind religious beliefs in me and I've never cared to try to seek out any kind of religion on my own.
I believe that Vinny Caravella created the world in six days. Then then on the 7th he said "Man ,That shit was hard" and then took a day of rest by eating an entire bucket of KFC chicken.Awwww. I like this a lot. Of course in time wars will start over what kind of skin the chicken had and what recipe it was, but for now I'm licking the air and catching imaginary chickunnn.

@PrivateIronTFU: isnt atheism a religion?
It's actually a complete lack of religion. So no.
I'm a Taoist that believes that all gods exist, they just don't live in the same physical realm that we do. Even so, I don't worship any of them.

I'm a servant of Christ.
Though, since it's my own personal relationship with God, I'm not interested in pressuring anyone to perfectly agree with me. I think it's worthwhile to tell others about Christ and discuss it, but I can only say so much. Only God can truly change someone's heart, and He does a fine job of that without me beating someone over the head. In the end, one of the best things I can do is simply be a good, reasonable individual and represent Christian values as best that I can.
And I think it's nice how many agnostics there are here on Giant Bomb. From a scientific perspective, I think it's reasonable for someone to be quite skeptical of the existence of a higher power but willing to keep an open mind on it.
Though, as far as fellow duders, I care a lot less about this and more about your taste in video games.
I like this. I like this a lot.
Thanks. I'm glad people are being generally chivalrous here today. Good on my fellow duders. :)
There was a time where a conversation like this on Giant Bomb would turn into my Saturday night entertainment, watching the shit storm of 200+ comments and then a thread lock. Sadly, that day is behind us.
I'm amazed that this thread hasn't collapsed in a ball of fire. Impressive.
I consider myself an agnostic. I was raised Protestant, but I gave that up a long time ago and have been fine without following any specific belief since then. That's not to say that I won't migrate to another that I feel more comfortable with at some point, but as of now, I have no interest in any specific faith.
I have most of the same beliefs as Christians, but don't consider myself a Christian. Because I don't make a conscious effort to be one. Not going to knowingly add to it's current state of hypocrisy with my actions. Love Religion as an aspect of life though, I think it gives people much needed hope that is hard to manufacture in other ways.

I am an athiest. But I would enjoy it if there was a heaven. I don't want to offend people, but I don't think highly of creationists.i don't really give a shit about people that are actually trying to be christ-like because that usually means they're doing good in some way or another. but when people use religion in the name of violence, law making, teaching, and to promote anti-intellectualism and hate, then it's
not.
cool.
Its ok for them to believe whatever they want in private... hell they can believe that we are all actually bacteria on the sole of a giant for all i really care. But as soon as they start trying to press their beliefs on me, we got issues.
I'm an atheist that gets really pissed when somebody says that atheists "believe in nothing" but does not bother religious people to death with atheist evangelization anymore (i.e. not a atheist Jehova's witness).
But for the record, atheism is the active belief that there is no god, which is usually paired with humanist beliefs. There is still a morality system attached to it about removing religious alienation and realizing humanity's potential for good. What people are thinking of when they think of this is either agnosticism or nihilism. Not quite the same thing.

That's the whole point of the Rule of Two.
Two there should be; no more, no less. One to embody power, the other to crave it.
I don't believe in anything magical or spiritual or supernatural. When we die, that's it. Your personality is your brain, there isn't an essence of you that exists outside of your brain.
The easiest thing to convince someone of is that they deserve more. Which is why almost every major religion paints the natural world as awful and their supernatural fluff as a prize that they can earn.
everyone receives stimuli. everyone reacts to that stimuli with thought. thought precedes action. action is self-made stimuli which translates to one's own experience. stimuli made by others/surroundings as well as your self-made ones affects who you are. that's life. you and you alone control what actions you take. to me, that is a powerful thing, though so simple and obvious.
I am nothing I guess, don't really believe anything happens when you die, except you stop existing of course.

@GuyIncognito: but you can't take the questions of whether voodoo or Zeus exist to represent all queries possible about theism and religion.
Why not? My point is that a person's worldview dictates what is either absurd or worthy of consideration. Ancient Greeks thought questions about Zeus and his family were as important as your questions about afterlife. Likewise, other people are free to judge your questions to be equally trivial.
BTW, you replying to my comment awarded me the "Touched by God" trophy. It must be a sign from Joe Pesci.
