I don't read comic books all that much, but I re-read Kick-Ass in anticipation for the film (love the comic, but the film's got problems). Also, I'm trying to plow through the entirety of Maximum Carnage, since it's awesome. What other reason do you need?

I'm currently keeping up on Fables and The Walking Dead, want to start reading some of the current Batman runs, but there's so many I don't know where to start.

I haven't bought any comics for years, but I have a pretty extensive Wolverine collect that I frequently visit.

to those not knowing where to start, some recommendations.

1. Old Man Logan (wolverine in the future where he is trying to be a peaceful man but that doesn't last too long, beautiful fun book.) Also Try Nemesis by the same creative team.
2. NextWave Agents of H.A.T.E. (Fucking hilarious)
3. Batman and Robin, the new series (Dick Grayson has taken over the mantle of batman and is teamed up with Bruce Wayne's son Damien as Robin, who is a little asshole)
4. Thor (Pick up the first trade of the new series)
5. Civil War (Hero on hero violence with a pretty decent story as to why)
 6. Wanted (SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOoooooo much better than the movie)
7. The Walking Dead (Zombies, but not really. This is going to be a TV show next year go start getting the trades while you can. Great Book)
8. Invincible (Superhero book NOT in the Marvel or DC universe Written By Robert Kirkman, the same guy responsible for The Walking Dead)

Shit to stay FAAAR away from.

1. Current Batman Titles except for Detective Comics.
2. Superman titles unless written by Geoffe Johns and drawn by Gary Frank.
3.  Final Crisis
4. Justice League of America
5. Black Panther
6. Brother Voodoo
7. Spawn

Seriously Spawn has NEVER been a good read. Art aside that book and it's premise is retarded.

I love comics but there's so many, it's hard to keep up. It's like jazz. You either listen to all of it or you have no idea what's going on.

That said, I'm going through the Civil War series to read all of them, while also reading the Sandman graphic novels.

Recent monthly comic favorites:
Criminal by Brubaker and Phillips
Weird World of Jack Staff by Paul Grist
BPRD by Arcudi and Davis
Beasts of Burden by Dorkin and Thompson
Punisher: Frankencastle by Remender and Moore
King City by Brandan Graham

I just picked up the Invincible Iron Man and Gotham Central hardcovers on a whim and am really enjoying them both.

Thirded, fourthed and Fifthed.
You read comics, you need to at least look at these, and the prequel to Sleeper: Point Blank (which is actually better than sleeper)
I read on a weekly basis:
2000ad

I buy trades of everything else.
Currently:
Chew
Guardians of the Galaxy
Nova
Invincible Iron Man
Immortal Iron Fist
Invincible (hmm a trend)
Secret Warriors (best thing I've read in AGES)
X-Force
 Necrosha/Second Coming
Legion of Superheroes
Ultimate Spiderman
Queen and Country
anything put out by Jonathan Hickman
Authourity
Wildcats

God i loved Maximum Carnage as a kid. That megadrive game was also awesome.

I need to pick up that Nextwave anthology..I will read anything by Ellis.
DC can fuck off as far as I'm concerned. I only really have time for the Flash and Legion.
Wally West is the Flash...not interested in any other unless its in Tom vs The Flash.

The Walking Dead is pretty much it for me. I used to read more way back in High School, but I fell off the wagon and the new story lines piss me off (You don't kill Batman!). I hear that Scott Pilgrim is pretty good. Might check it out before the movie comes out.
