Not sure which I dislike the most though. I have a surprising problem with all of them that I didn't actually realise until I had to decide between all of them!

I've seen one user on here spell almost every other word in CAPS, while everything else is lowercase.  It gives me a headache trying to read it.

I'm usually pretty tolerable of grammatical mistakes people make when writing in a forum, and people here are generally very good at writing in a way that's easy to read. However the same can't be said for places like Youtube, Gametrailers, etc. Here people often write in ways that are painful and irritating to try to read. So what kind of writing style/grammatical error irritates you the most when trying to read a forum post?

Like Ygg said, using 'your' instead of 'you're' etc. brings my piss to a boil, and English isn't even my mother tongue.

Hmm...they're all actually pretty annoying, but lack of punctuation completely rubs me the wrong way when I see it.

Yeah, same for me. Another pet peeve of mine is when people confuse words just because they're pronounced the same, like aloud and allowed.

I honestly couldn't give a fuck. I know how to read English, so even if someone types something wrong, my brain can still make sense of it

A week ago, I would have picked something besides "other," but reading a post a few days ago was almost physically painful.

The poster was typing out every single word and he seemed to have a good grasp of how to use grammar. However, every single time he needed to use the word "people," he typed it "ppl" instead. Seeing paragraphs of thought-out text and well formed sentences with long words being used correctly immediately followed by such a lazy abbreviation almost broke me.

All of those choices are horrible, though.

No kind of language abuse bothers me more than when someone writes "prolly" instead of the actual, real word "probably".

What really really REALLY pisses me off though, is when fucking idiots say "I could care less." They should be hung, drawn and quartered. Unless they actually do mean that they care.

Their, there and they're. For some reason it makes me insane when these are misused regularly.  Although, as someone mentioned above, I still know what the person means.
Turns out I'm more from the Chomsky school of thought.

none of them bother me because it's a forum not a formal letter, but all caps makes me laugh because of the vision of that person hammering their keyboard out of anger.

Lack of punctuation.

I have one, specific, gripe, above all else: people confusing then and than, and using them interchangeably.

One is (generally) a quantifier, and the other other (generally) refers to time.

i have noticed alot of people who right their posts like this
for some strange reason and i find it really annoying
i mean why do they keep using line breaks
every few words
and why can't they capitalize
their words or throw in
a period from time to time
is it really that hard to do

Other than that, nothing really bothers me. People that use internet slang/IM speech a bit too much on forums seems silly to me, but it doesn't bother me. If I'm talking in a game or Steam chat I have no problem with it, because in those situations you are just saying things quick to get them said, but in a forum you can take as long as you need to type something and check it to make sure it works well. In a forum, the written word is how you present yourself to other people. To write terribly just reflects poorly on your own self, and negates any kind of point or argument you are trying to make for your own side of a discussion in my view.

Plus whenever I see it, it reminds me of how terrible I used to be before I learned to care about my writing ability and learned that if I type poorly I just make myself look like an idiot. At least now I look like an idiot because of the ideas I type, and not the way I type it.

Then and than.

"Should of done this" instead on "Should have done this"
Writing similar sounding words in the wrong place like right/write, allowed/aloud and shit like that.
And of course you're, youre, your stuff.

Writing the word I, like i. That really annoys me. Also writing a comma , and. Then going crazy and just mis spelling words on purpose because your brain is fried. also not starting with capitals. Then no having a space inbetween the next word when you go crazy.

Using text message shorthand.  First off, a lack of capital letters and punctuation make it difficult to read.  Paragraphs all run together and it's hard to distinguish the separate points the author is attempting to convey.  Additionally, the use of abbreviations commonly found in text messages have no place in any writing beyond that of a cell phone.

I chose option F for other. Other in my case would stand for "All of the above".

However in regards to forums, a little leeway on choices A through E is acceptable.
But this is just my opinion, based on personal preference.

I picked other. It bothers me most when people capitalize every word, just the first letter.  So, they aren't even holding down capslock, they are intentionally and maliciously maligning my eyes.

Punctuation, yeah. Specifically, people who don't use sentences or don't capitalize the first letter or whatever. I can tolerate spelling and grammar mistakes, generally, and the trolls who constantly point out peoples grammar mistakes are morons, but a certain level of punctuation is necessary to make what you're saying readable.

Also, people who make paragraphs that are like a page long. Even if it's technically correct, it's a literal pain on the eyes. Reading it would give me a headache. Shorten your paragraphs, please!

Once in a while I see a post where somebody has decided to enter unnecessary
new lines and form a neat little cube. I have no idea why people do this, I initially
thought that people got confused and thought that they need to manually enter
a new line when they reach the edge of the reply box, but the box is really wide
so it can't be that. I don't know why but this really annoys me, especially when
they keep doing it after someone points it out.
