I'm talking days in a row, whether it be from a sickness or something occurring in the school. Last winter they canceled school for a week and two days because of snow, even though it didn't even snow that much. People in my state are crazy; they cancel school if there is even a slim chance of snow.
What's the most school you've ever missed?

I skipped all of last semester and only went in for compulsory labs for my courses.
This was a bad habit I developed during the last year of High School when I was frustrated with the slow pace and spending 6 hours a day for weeks on end on topics that could be covered in an hour of reading before an exam. My friend at the time found out the password to the school's attendance system and he taught me how to access it, and when I logged in to change a few of my absences to attendances, my attendance was at 43%. I thought I would stop being so lazy when I started university, but I ended up skipping even more last year because it had become a habit.
One maybe in high school? I didn't really do long strings of absences.
In my college, if you miss a class three times in one semester or twice in a row, you fail. So yeah, don't really do that in college either.
Two or 3 times I missed 5 days in a row because I was sick, but that was grade school. Once the school basement flooded (and shorted most of the computers in the basement computer lab). The floor was warped. They had to drain it, pull up the floor and put down a new one. I think we missed 3 days for that.
One winter we missed every second day for 2 weeks because of constant snow storms. That winter broke our snowfall records by January. We missed close to 15 days that winter.
I had terrible, terrible attendance in secondary school. I think my year 7 - 11 (England school) attendance was something like 70%, so yeah, 30% of secondary school missed.
I missed 6 weeks of college in a row as well, I'm doing the overdue work before September.
" Last winter they canceled school for a week and two days because of snow, even though it didn't even snow that much. "Same, but here it snowed for about 20 inches.
I skipped about two weeks on at least one occasion. I was faking it... I feel horrible for that. Wasn't worth it and I got really behind. I've missed a week-or-so for legitimate illnesses... I usually get strep throat once a year.
" Hmm maybe about 2-3 days...I rarely skipped out on school, if I was dying I still had to go to school, but I really liked high school so I didn't mind. "Yeah same situation, I was pretty sick a couple of times but I still went to school cause I really liked my high school. So I missed 3 days max and that was like once a year.
i once had an ankle infection. both my ankles burnt like hell if ANYTHING touched them, even my finger
so i stayed in the bed for 3 days. walked on my toes whenever i went to the bathroom
I got a minor case of pneumonia in 2nd grade, out for a week..and the day I got back I was the only one in the class who got an A on the spelling quiz. Didn't even study.
One day max, i go to school even if i feel terrible because i hate missing things and having to do double the work the next day.
Hurricane Charlie. That bitch wrecked Orlando, Florida, a while back when I lived there. I think school shut down for like three weeks after that... also, there was no electricity, and, well, it being Florida... kinda sucked.
a week. about 7-8 times before. for my grandparent's funerals, once doe to a skin problem, and the other times due to interschool sports.
Doesn't really count but I missed every Tuesday in a term because it was, by far, the worst day in my schedule.
I don't know how much school I missed but in first grade I got so sick that whenever I drank I would throw it up. So I was sick like this for a bit and I got dehydrated so I had to go to the hospital, and then one of my kidneys failed. I'm guessing it might have been about 3 weeks, but then again, it could have been summer. It's my best getting sick story I have though.
@supermike6: That's awful! What was wrong? "It was just a bug going around that affected me more harshly than anyone else I guess.
I missed (skipped) about 40 days of school every year, I passed all of my courses with decent marks.
4 days because of snow. 2 because it was canceled for everyone and 2 because of difficulties I have with my walking and the amount of big snow piles.
The maximum amount of days a year I miss school is like...three or four. That's on a bad year. I've had perfect attendance a few years and probably a few years where I only missed one or two days. I either have to be really really sick or I have something scheduled and can't back out of it (and they're usually excused, too). I almost always go to school sick, it literally has to be bad enough where I can't get out of bed. That only happens once every few years. I'm probably due for one this year.
It has nothing to due with me liking school, I just hate making up work.
In grade three or four I missed a week of school because I had Chicken Pox. Other then that I always had perfect attendance.
