Speaks for itself really, it used to be Fernando Torres until a certain something happened in January.
What's the story behind your avatar?
I'm actually known as ObituaryPenguin many other places. So the avatar pretty much speaks for itself. (Penguin with a chainsaw?)
When I was 22 and started my first attempt at building a website as a business I thought I should start using my name as my handle (going by dave or snide) rather than by a pseudonym (in my quake days my handle was "Darkstar"). Seeing as how I ran the site I figured it would be funny to play off the godfather concept since I was essentially pulling the strings of the site itself. I've now had this avatar for 10 years.
Now when I need a handle in games I use "enemykite", which was the name of Ethan and I's business (essentially Comic Vine) before we merged with Whiskey. It was just a funny concept. You go out with your nice little kite to have fun and then your day is ruined because someone has a bigger, more aggressive enemy kite flying nearby.

I teach logic at university and it's a play on the sound of "modus ponens" (turning into modus pwnens).
I hate truth tables. Anyway my avatar is a meme from the old GameSpot OT. It was used in place of the indifferent smiley in response to something that deserves no written rebuttal. Usually posted with no accompanying text for comic effect, and is usually a bannable offense. Oh and I have very fond memories of Fresh Prince growing up.
No real story, I just grabbed the first avatar I saw but I may change it to something more meaningful.
I recently developed a strong interest in ancient antiquity, in which Rome takes a large part in, and SPQR means "Senatus Populusque Romanus", The Senate and People of Rome.
Well I like penguins (well obsessed is a better term I guess) and I love the crazy penguins from Madagascar. It's as simple as that.
BTW, penguins rule. That is all.
Stolen from a GiantBomb quest about changing your avatar, I liked it so much I kept it and now I use it across various websites.
