Most albums this year for me have been pretty big disappointments (White Women, What is this Heart?, Turn Blue each have 2-3 real great songs and the rest just isn't fun to listen to) so my favourite album so far this year came out of nowhere, Glass Animal's ZABA. Very smooth and constantly high-quality songs.
Your favorite albums this year so far

Surprised this hasn't been mentioned more. Giant Bomb community must be sleeping on this dude, especially considering he makes somewhat video game sounding music. Jaded is my favourite track at the moment:
Ya, some of his older songs sound straight out of sonic or something. Really easy to listen to.
Been loving both of Troy Sanders two new albums:
Also getting my dose of crazy conceptual prog metal with Barrows new album Red Giant
Been meaning to listen to Jack White's new album too, also interested in Chris Letchford's jazz album though from what I've heard it sounds a little bland.
The new Allegaeon album is damn good. Also these guys are hilarious
Wretched released a killer album this year, this is a great instrumental off of their release "Cannibal".
And finally some shameless self promotion for my band, released this guy last month.
It took a little bit for it to stick, but Little Dragon's new album has me hooked. Cool stuff from them, as usual.
@captain_max707: Yeah I liked a few songs from that album the first and only time I listened to it. I've been meaning to give it another listen or two, though.
@redbullet685: I'd say it's definitely worth another shot. It's pretty dang consistent in terms of quality, with Pink Cloud and Pretty Girls being standouts.
@kurtdyoung: My work here is done, then. That song is fantastic.
Might get laughed at for this but Coldplay - Ghost stories
Okay, logged in for the first time since ever to say me too-- but I guess I'm a weak bitch because I wouldn't have said it if someone else didn't first. I will even say liking this album made me go back and less-hate Mylo Xyloto.
He he good to know I'm not alone :D
Artificial Brain - Labyrinth Constellation
Really unique stuff here, featuring Dan from Revocation on guitars.
Archspire - The Lucid Collective
Canada has been putting out some of the best tech metal recently, and this album is no exception.
Abhorrent Castigation - Throne of Existential Abandonment
Sick, brutal, German death metal. Lille (Defeated Sanity, drums) really shines on this album.
Also @cgeare mentioned some fantastic albums. I am really digging your new album, great work.
To calm down from all the angry metal and rap out there, I love Finnish folk dude Joose Keskitalo's new album Ylösnousemus. Simplicity meets very morbid lyrics.
I guess im going to stick out on this one but Being As An Ocean's newest album is pretty great. Post hardcore at its best with a bigger emphasis on spoken word and singing hooks rather than your typical Emmure drop A binary breakdowns about capcom games.
this album was amazing, just barely missed my top 3 albums.
