That's a really good list considering that most lists read the exact same way, I.E. the same Zeppelin, AC/DC, Pink Floyd bullshit. I don't see how you can have a Nico solo record on your favorite albums though; I mean, Chelsea Girl was ok, but I always hated her voice -_-

@Bruce: Really? You don't like Nico's voice even on "Femme Fatale"? That solo album of hers Desertshore is really cool. It has thickly layered organ and harmonium playing along with her chilling voice and gothic lyrics. A surprisingly good album, though it might take a few listens to get a feel for it.

I love Pink Floyd and the Beatles and most of the great bands, but I discovered so many good albums when encountering Scaruffi that my list has changed a lot over the past 2 years.

You know what's weird?  Given the fact that Tool is my all-time favorite band, you would THINK that I'd list one of their albums in my top five...but I can't.  Why not?  Well...because the other five that I listed are just way better to me.  =  /

I'm going to try to stick to more recent stuff; listing the classics would take too much time, so I'll only throw in some of those.

The Antlers - Hospice
St. Vincent - Actor
The Clash - London Calling (Favorite classic album ever)
Interpol - Turn on the Bright Lights
Joy Division - Unknown Pleasures
The Strokes - Room on Fire
The Velvet Underground - Loaded (This is an amazing album; I sometimes prefer it to their debut, however, I own every VU album ever recorded)
Daft Punk - Discovery
Arcade Fire - Funeral
Eminem - The Marshall Mathers LP
The Smiths - The Queen is Dead
Roxy Music - Avalon
Bone Thugs-N-Harmony - E. 1999 Eternal (Shocking, I know)
Nas - Illmatic (Only decent thing he ever did)
Bruce Springsteen - Born in the U.S.A.

That's just a few.

Every Dylan album has a spot on my favorite albums of all time, I tried to limit it here.  Many people aren't too fond of his later work, but I love it just as much as his early works.

@Br3adfan: Yeah, his later work is great especially the stuff he's done in this decade. But I agree that the 80s and 90s were pretty weak decades for Dylan.

i respect your opinion and taste but i have a serious difficulty understanding how anyone could have Bright Eyes as their favorite (or a favorite album) with a vocalist that sounds so shaky like he's gonna burst in childish tears .. its beyond me.

I fully recognize that I love this album way too much. That said, how can you not love the first lyrics to Cigaro? Hypnotize is almost as good, since they were recorded at the same time, but I like the songs better on Mezmerize overall.
