What is this?

This is a very exclusive region made by me! Only the best mayors can enter. This region is made to be the best of the best. The region can hold 16 and is brand new.

How to apply?

Simple, you just write something convincing me to let you join. This can be as short as a word, or as big as 10 pages, I don't care! The council, for now me, will decide if you're worthy enough to enter. When applying, you should probably state what type of mayor you are, such as a gambling mayor. Also make sure to add your origin ID, in case you are chosen for greatness.

Depending on my neighbors, I either harvest nerds to invent everything or massive amounts of poor people to work in the mines. Either way I tend to turn into a massive trade town since the global market is prime for that right now. Origin ID: Chainreaction01.

I want to invest in education as much as possible, just to see if I can get some really clean industrial tech going on. Failing that, I can take everyone's garbage and promise not to burn it as it falls into an incinerator.

I have a city in a region with one other stranger, and I've managed 30,000 population plus a fully stocked Police Precinct and Hospital. I would love to wrap your region in the warm embrace of safety and health. I'm already on NAW3 too, so it was like, meant to be and stuff.

I basically want to power everyone and take all there garbage and sewage and stuff so you can all have nice clean cities because fuck ground pollution in the metropolis!

Oh gods, words to the wise - don't pick the city where only 1/5 of the area is usable because the other 4/5 is taken up by the giant mountain it's on top of. As your first city ever. In a group game where other people are depending on you to perform. Also don't play at 3 AM when you're liable to accidentally bulldoze the 60k highschool you just built.

I honestly have no idea what else to do with that plot of land. There simply is no way for me to increase the land value without shattering the tenuous RCI balancing act. I suppose now I just wait for Cheetah speed to come back so I can drain the land of its natural resources and contribute to a great work. But I really need my neighbors to step up their water generation because I'm running out fast and would end up somewhere around -2k a month if I tore up enough RCI to toss in a Sewage Treatment thingy.

This game is fucking great.

EDIT: One upside to building in an inhospitable wasteland is that a meteor strike is more likely to miss the scant few buildings you have.

@starvinggamer: I considered taking that spot for a moment just because it was next to three people, but I didn't see how I was going to turn such little space into a productive city. I guess maybe I would've gone the casino or tourism route and tried to bring in a bunch of wealth sims.

@chaser324: Yeah, but that area already has a bunch of problems because someone let crime get away from them a bit *coff* meaning I had arsonists burning down my buildings constantly. A Fire Dept was my first non-RCI building. Plus when I got there my Industry bar was a big fat solid log of Yellow so I figured I'd go that route and dig up all the ore and coal while I was at it. I managed to get it up to 50k+ residents though and I'm not losing money so overall, I think I did ok for my first time out. But whoever designed that city's terrain is a real fucker.

Give me a large flat piece of land with access to trains with decent wind and I promise to replicate my last city.

Note: this is after sporezilla wrecked my university, hospital, fire-station, trade center and commercial trade buildings (so like 800k worth of damage)? oh and I had also donated 1mil to get an arcology going.

Imagine what I could do if I had active neighbors and a port? (port would really be nice).... and a nice neighbor with a resort town who built an airport so I could finally get some choppers

I also promise to be the guy that pretty much researches everything (yes that is a gen3 nuclear reactor and yes I could build another and power like half the region.... or build 3 and power the entire region)

That's quite a city! Welcome aboard! quick question, how did you mange traffic issues in your city?

Traffic into the city from the highway is always bogged down but not as much as before. Basically make sure no buildings near the main off ramp generate traffic (note my bus stop and street cars face away from the main avenue). Other then that, lots of street cars and buses and the three train stations (3 might be overkill/ 2 should be enough for a city of that size) helps reduce traffic in general. I sorta tried to optimize my bus stops to around one every 2-3 intersections and made sure street cars and bus stops never overlapped each-other. Finally I just turned my most congested streets into avenues with street cars. Even after that though traffic can still be a problem certain times of day though I've managed to eliminate all almost all the red sections. The traffic is far from perfect though and if I really tweaked the intersections even more, reduced the number of bus' and street cars and optimized the stops more that might help more.

@sexytoad: I was being literal. You would actually have to give me SimCity for me to play in your region. I have not bought it and I'm not sure when/if I'll do it.

I regret to inform you that, due to poor city planning resulting in almost city wide gridlock, I have had to level most of Black Gold Mountain. However, before doing so I made sure to save both $350k as well as major city buildings. Those of you who bought sewage or water from me need not worry, those are still up in addition to a Petroleum and Trade H.Q to be the basis of my new economy. Here's hoping for a bright future in what is now known as Old Gold Mountain.

So I was robbing my neighbours power and water, but now my city is tooo big and requires 600MW so had to build myself a nuclear powerplant. got quite a few police now including choppers if someone needs some hit me up.

It appears I have the dreaded "cannot process this city at this time" after being forced to do a rollback. Hopefully I just lose my city that was only a couple of hours old instead of the plot becoming unusable.

*Edit: tried to abandon the region and reclaim it to see if the plot was still useable that way but no luck, looks like it's lost till EA finds a backup or more likely resets it

Alright, who wants to gift me a lot of money so I can fix my fucking city? I realize it's my own fault for picking that super shitty plot of land as my first foray into the game, but I know I can fix it if I could just get some capital. My economy has stabilized but at this point I'm only making around $100 an hour and I don't know what I can do to cut costs without causing the entire city to implode.

So I either need someone to bail me out or I need to take another plot to make an AWESOME city and rake in the dough to salvage that PoS. But I don't want to take a slot that could go to another GB'er. What thinks you @sexytoad? Thanks regardless.

Actually, can you only gift money between cities that are connected by highway or can you gift money to any city within a region? This game is complicated.

It seems like with local regions which arnt connected theres always 1 that can, so if someone takes that plot they could distribute some of my goods the the rest of the map.

I would give anyone who claims that spot a nice starting bonus!

If there's still room, I'd love to join. Why? Because I am so desperate to play with people that I will make literally any kind of city. Need a bunch of uneducated workers for migrant labor? Sure here's a whole plot of them! Oh wait no BreakfastKing we'd much rather you dedicate yourself to water towers. Oh thats cool, because I just deleted my army of mobile homes and replaced them with a water tower farm.
