Both games are atop the list of amazing GameCube games and can be said to be some of the best of all time. But one which is better? Which one is the best game on the little cube that couldn't? Or if you have a different top GC game say so.

The Nintendo GameCube is a sixth generation video game console released by Nintendo on September 15, 2001 in Japan, November 18, 2001 in North America, May 3, 2002 in Europe, and May 17, 2002 in Australia.
Resident Evil 4 or Metroid Prime
Both of them are among the top 5 games of last gen, without question. I always planned on making a list of the top 100 games of last gen, and while I never finished it, those two were both among the top. I was never able to decide on the top one, and honestly, it would be hard for me to choose here. Both are phenomenal games. My biggest problem with Metroid Prime was the backtracking towards the end, where you had to find those relics or whatever. It was tough, man. No way I could have got them all without a guide. Also, I think it's final boss fight was a little disapponting, but I feel the same way about RE4's. It's a shame that RE4 has so many excellent boss fights, but the final one isn't quite up to par with the others. Heck, dude. It's possible these could be my #1 and #2 spots in my top 100. God of War, Halo, and Vice City would probably round out the rest of my top 5. So yeah, I can't choose. I choose both. If anyone has missed out on either of these games, do yourself a favor and GET ON IT, DUDE! TIME IS A WASTIN'!
"I don't know what game I would call the best for the GC, but I think out those two...Metroid Prime is the better overall experience. I really enjoyed RE4, but having to babysit that stupid girl was awful."
I thought Ashley was awesome and I liked the sections where you had control with no weapons. It brought a welcome shift in the game for me. I found her AI to be OK, if it was weak then it made your closer protection of her more important.
It's a toughie, but I would say RE4.
I never had an issue with ashley to be honest. I think I only had to save her once the first time through.
It's really close. I loved both of these games.....but.....I think I'm gonna have to go with Metroid Prime.
