I was replaying the game today and got up to the part where you fall into the giant worm.  Dom starts dreaming about about his wife and she says that the kids are at her mother's.  Whatever happened to them?

You know, I was wondering this exact question yesterday. I remembered that Dom tells Marcus he misses his family, and as far as I knew, his wife was all he had. But good call on the Maria line, I forgot she said that. Hopefully Gears 3 will expand on this all a little more.

I think they might have died on E-day thats just my guess. But in the art book it says that maria disappeared 4 years after there kids were killed.
