Honestly, a new Gears Of War game is the very last thing I wanted. Unless, this is releasing on the Xbox 360, I can't see them carrying Gears Of War over to the next console cycle without rebooting and retooling the entire thing.
Which is what we might get with PCF making it.
Seriously, BulletStorm was depressingly under-rated. I had no interest for more Gears after 3 but this has me psyched.

I agree, but I really don't think Epic is going to let People Can Fly go nuts with some Gears Of War offshoot. Like I said, if this is for the Xbox 360, it's probably just going to be more Gears. The next cycle, if they do decide to carry over this license, I can't see them doing it without significantly retooling the mechanics and style of it.
I mean, that'd be great if this game was just Bulletstorn in the Gears universe, but I really don't think that's going to happen.
My theory is that it's Adam Fenix. I mean, didn't Prescott have him kidnapped and sent to Azure? It would explain the cuffs and the Onyx Guards around the person.
@connerthekewlkid: @ez123: Hmm. Interesting. I would've been more interested if it was a whole new group of people though. Or even Adam, because maybe then it would fill in some of the plot holes from the trilogy. Thanks for the link.
@TheUnsavedHero: I really like Baird and felt that he was underutilized after 1. Tai, Dizzy, Jace, and even Anya were pretty useless. There have been way more horrible squadmates than good ones so I'm happy that the only two great ones(Baird and Cole) are still going to be in the game.

Of course not but there'd be no point in PCF making it and just imitating Epic. They hired those guys for a reason and I think Cliff and co are smart enough not to squander the different talents that those guys have.
I am so happy it features those two. Between the two of them (racial stereotype) Cole and (snarky douche) Baird piss off so many fanboys that their tears and whining will fuel my black heart for the next year.
Seriously though. Prequel or Sequel - I was just hoping you would be shooting something other than locust variants. That was fun but bored now.
I'm surprised Baird was able to make time between going to raves, frosting his tips and working out in order to appear in a sequel, oh what's that? Vanilla Ice is going to take his place? Oh, ok then, that makes more sense.

LOVED Bulletstorm, thought that game got an incredibly unfair rap because of it's perceived nature rather than what it actually turned out to be, so this is good news!
One of the few modern shooters I gladly replayed frequently after release.
Also, I'm pretty sure we are looking at Marcus in chains. Just because it's obvious and there's no good reason to hide his head, that's just how game marketing works. Pretty typical of Epic, really.
Oops! Well...that theory's right out the window...I'm actually much MORE interested now.
I betcha this is going to be related to Alpha squad. This will tie into Gears 1 and it make sense that Baird and cole are in the COG army. I always questioned on why a well known sports star and a somewhat of tach guy are in a ooh in your face attitude environment. I would say that but maybe E3 will shed light.
This is great news for me. I love Gears and playing a new one sometime soon would be fun. I don't mind Baird and am looking forward to Cole.
My opinion of the Gears franchise has went down considerably after playing Gears 3. The game got too focused on having things balanced too much that they were no longer fun (just like blops) and they wasted the first 2 acts of the campaign on scenarios that were occurring simultaneously. There was also that bad ending... they need to get new writers in if i'm going to be playing this new game and they need to remove that BS where you have to read books to know what the hell is going on.
I always liked Baird as he was the only character not to take everything so damned seriously in what was a pretty ridiculous world.
But I feel like this is a huge missed opportunity as the idea of a prequel in the Pendulum wars sounded amazing.
Although, if this is just Bulletstorm 2 with a GOW paint-job, count me in.
I took to Baird for that classic line he said in Gears of War, where he goes in response to Fenix passing off a wierd hissing to the wind, with something like'yeah never heard the wind whisper 'hostiles' before. He of course reminds me of, and probably modeled after that charactor in Aliens.
And yeah, Painkiller...3? Or I guess the one after was an expansion, and all the others including what is on steam right now almost pure fan effort or farmed out.. I played the recent one a bit, it's okay.....
As someone who JUST bought Gears 3, I don't need this. As someone who's favorite Gears character is Baird, I'm excited. I hope it plays more to the strengths of People Can Fly, and I'm cautiously optimistic.
I like Baird and all but if you want Cole Train (baby) in a game you gotta spend the dollaz and get Big Bo in.
Literally just started Bulletstorm (I got it a while ago for a whopping £5 used) and fucking adore it. I adore Gears of War. I approve of this. If they can get a leash in there somewhere, DO IT.
