For an assignment, my group and I had to make a business. We decided to go with the "Auto Club," a place where you can race your cars around a track for a fee. We would have a garage where you can modify your car and a store where you can buy parts. I was put in charge of advertisment. My question for you guys is, where and how should I advertise a business like this? Where do you car-lovers go to chat and meet up? Where do you go to learn information? Etc...

In all seriousness though, most car meets that I've gone to with my roommate (He's a honda freak) usually they took place in low key areas like a park or something like that.

I was kinda thinking about the whole brochure(sp?) on a car type deal. Thing is, I would need to know where to put the brochures. I know it's tempting, but let's keep the sarcasm to a minimum.

Uhhh random places? In-n-out, car lots....etc.

Take out ads in classic car magazines, tuner magazines etc. Advertise on history channel (for classic car lovers) or discovery/science channel type deals. Brochures are kind of our dated, but you could leave them at car auctions, car dealerships (hey come drive your new car at our track!), rallies, swap meets etc. There is already a big car culture, you just have to get your (imaginary) track onto the rotation for car clubs.

Go to a larger auto parts store, try to find some cars in the parking lot that fit the bill and put your ads on them. Don't know where you live, but in a warmer climate the do it yourself car washes are another good spot.

lotsa girls, lotsa bikinis..that is how you market your car related anythings.

Try advertising on internet discussion websites like evolutionm.net or advertise at different shops like Buscher Racing and Vishnu Performance. 

From my experience I don't take notice of ads in magazines, your best bet is to go to car clubs and car forums and organize some sort of sponsorship deal word of mouth is more effective than regular forms of ads,

 
 
but that's just my opinion on ads.

think of car lovers as a tight knit community they look after their own, if you provide a service that they like, they will let others know for you, 
     

also, if you have a track people will come,

TV shows, in New Zealand we have a Car show (Or used to have it) called Performance car TV let them film for free and get the name out there.
