So I was just playing guitar hero 2 (yes I know, very current).  Anyway there's an achievement for watching the credits, and Jeff and Brad got a special thanks.  Anyone know whats up with that?

Back when Jeff, Brad, Ryan, Rich, Alex, Vinny, Matt, and pretty much everyone else worked at Gamespot, they discovered the original Guitar Hero one fateful E3 over in Kentia Hall. From then on, they showed it quite regularly on their weekly live show On the Spot. They were all even thanked in the credits for the first Guitar Hero, but only listed as "On the Spot". Of course, the game was a smash success so Guitar Hero 2, which was featured on even more so on On the Spot and their various live coverages. So in turn, they were all special thanked for that too, but this time they were all listed by name.

Jeff, Brad, Ryan and Vinny should be thanked in the credits of every game. Why? Because I fucking said so.

same here. I'd like so see something like that  in the future if the site continue to get bigger and more popular. but TNT, I love Mondays and Giant Bombcast kind of fill this void.

Yup, I'm definitely with you there. It was great and I even watched it after the best people left because it was quite good weekly coverage still. I had to quit it later on when they moved to a daily format. I felt like getting less because so many episodes had only lame games. Plus it was hard to bother to watch it so often.

BTW, quite funny that most of these topics on this forum are about credits roll and not the game itself ^^
