Bobby Kotick has said that GH is being reinvented, by new studios, for a modern and more demanding audience.

    Source

I know you have all been waiting for this, right? Rock Band 3 must be getting old now.

Now, how many drum pads will the new drums have? Rock Revolution is still number one in that terrirtory, so we can only hope this new one has no less than ten, because as we all know more pads means a more authentic experience.

I assume by more demanding, he means less demanding. Expect pop. Lots of pop.

If they can find a way so that I don't ever have to buy more instruments again and can just keep using the ones I got, even on next-gen consoles and everything, then I'll be pretty happy.

You like playing Guitar Hero songs that just repeat the same chord for two and a half minutes? I think that audience is served already by Singstar or whatever it's called. And Just Dance.

Well, that was a fun five minutes without Guitar Hero, wasn't it? I'll at least look at the coverage of this game, but I'm really not expecting much more from it than trying to play catch-up to Rock Band 3 in a way that remains as accessible to the general public as possible.

Yes, the songs THEY want to play.

I dont care what they do with the series but does anyone else find it hilarious that a game designed to let you be a guitar god in your living room is going to turn into a pop music game? Perhaps next they can make a "Lets Dance: Scandinavian Metal" because thats the same thing but in reverse.

You have to do DDR style foot motions in front of a kinect while strumming on one of those real guitars. You can only get full points if you hair is so long it covers your eyes and you have a lip piercing. kinect can tell.

I like playing songs that are fun, not the too-long noodly metal that's plagued the franchise since the second game.

So they laid off all of those people and disbanded the Guitar Hero business unit for absolutely no reason, then?

Two years ago, gamers were much less jaded towards Activision. I don't know how they're going to do it, but it sounds like he's going to make a rhythm game for people that don't like Activision.

No, they equate to you have a generally bad taste in music because the music is the stuff of the Top 40 rock charts and/or the Billboard charts, which, admittedly, I find odd considering you have a pretty good taste in movies. I've no idea what your taste in videogames are, though.

Not everything popular is bad; my favourite album of last year got nominated for a Grammy and was in the iTunes charts for months.

Oh man, I hate it when people says that it's gonna appeal to modern audiences. That either means 1: You're going to have to use your whole body to play five notes on a guitar, 2: Guitar Hero is coming back in 3D, or 3: zombies are somehow going to be involved.

And it hurts too, this game franchise got me back into video games, and now watching it flounder is sad.
