Same universe, different franchises. There will be a Portal 2, and if it's as successful as the first game no doubt a Portal 3 as well, not to mention expansions like Still Alive etc, etc, etc. It's not a game in the Half-Life franchise, so it doesn't belong on the list!

its not as clear cut as that. I mean, I guess you could add an ultimate avengers game to the X-men universe. I mean, did you play HL2:E2? they are totally connected. I have a feeling too that HL2:E3 will tie it in even more, which gives it more of a possibility to be linked
I agree with Demilich too. Instead of me thinking that they're in the same universe, I just think that they're just making a bunch of cameos/easter eggs/references to the other franchise.
