Definitely getting this. Wasn't a fan of Halo 3's campaign, but have enjoyed ODST's campaign and Reach's. Have never actually played CE, so a remake would be cool
Halo: Combat Evolved

Rumor: Halo: CE Remake Might Ship With Co-Op
Bullshit. There is a reason that 343 exists. There is no way their going to let a non-Halo developer touch Halo.

" Y'know... This game is still totally playable. Does this really warrant a re-make? "
Splinter Cell and PoP and all the other games being remade are hardly more worthy than this. This game is hugely important to the industry, regardless of your personal feelings on it. I'd say it definitely does.
" Wait, no Reach engine? That would be lame. "I was thinking the same, I'm less pumped now if it turns out that the game isn't in the Reach engine. Also I thought that 343 Industries would be doing the remake.
Would make this year even better. Although the first Halo does kinda still hold up pretty well. I hope this happens, MS needs exclusives for this year.
It's a bit silly that we go through "360 has no more games" every year.
They're actually saying it'll run in 1080p? Like, natively? Because I don't know of any retail (as opposed to arcade) 360 games that run in 1080p proper.
And not using the Reach engine either? This is starting to sound more like a hi-res port than a full-blown remake to me. I hope that's not the case.
Didn't Frank O'Connor of 343 already say there's no Halo game in 2011? I don't think this game would be out as soon as this post says.
Saying a Halo game might ship with co-op is like saying a Halo game might ship with guns. It's not a possibility, it's a foregone conclusion.
And I'm definitely less interested in this if it's not on the Reach engine. Not that I'm in love with the Reach engine or anything, but I was under the impression that this remake, if it did exist, would be a budget-priced game for 343 to test the waters with, a relatively simple Halo title that paves the way for a full-fledged entry in the series, the way ODST was originally meant to be.
"How the hell does this qualify as news? Christ. "
Were you answering your question with Christ or were you asking a rhetorical question and responding to it with an exacerbated "Christ. Because I don't think Jesus cares all that much about Halo.
Imagine if he did though. That would be something wouldn't it.
I honestly dont know what they could announce. They have hardle any exclusive ips anymore, and the ones that they do have have already had a game last year, and you cant turn out those kind of games in less then a year. Maybe MS will prove me wrong, but unless they unleash a Third Party Exclusive buffet at E3, I cant see what they could announce.
Well here's hoping this rumor is not true as I don't think a worse developer could be picked. Saber Interactive released that boring game Time Shift back in 2007 so they haven't done anything for the past three and half years. The fact that Reach's engine wouldn't be used like I was hoping the rumored remake would only disappoints me.
Probably a good idea if it is like a GOW1 and 2 remaster. Too soon for a complete remake. Xbox 720 would do the game justice it would be way too soon for a complete remake. Heres to hoping they don't screw up Bungie's game.
" I've always wanted to play the first Halo on my 360. "Then buy a copy of the first Halo. It's backward compatible.
As long as I've got Hang 'Em High in its original form with online support, I'm all over this shit. They better not nerf that fucking pistol, though!
I know It's probably not gonna happen, but a PC version would be nice. I'm not a console gamer. I was never a console gamer. But I still loved Halo. Not that Microsoft actually dives a damn about the PC as a gaming platform anymore.
Yeah, finally. I have been waiting for this for a long time. Halo 1 was such an awesome experience - I can't wait to play it over all newly re-skinned and with a new engine and achievements. This will be a true test to see whether I really like Reach better than CE.
I'm a bit iffy about the developer, but I know that Microsoft wouldn't just let them release a shitty remake of this game. It's one of their most treasured games. And also, keep in mind this isn't the first time the game has been developed by a different company - the PC version of Halo CE was done by Gearbox and was very, very good.
And the point of this article is pretty stupid. Of course this game will have co-op, you have to be the dumbest person ever to not release this game with co-op, something that the Halo series is known for.
" Why does this not intrest me at all? "Because if you own a 360, you can just buy the original Xbox version. Also, minor improvements like better graphics and added features like co-op probably won't have drastic changes to the experience you would receive if you just played the original.
Those are my reasons, anyways.
