A hamburger is a hunk of ground beef served between two pieces of bun-configured bread. Hamburgers are often served with a variety of toppings and condiments. It is named for the region in which it was invented, not for the kind of meat (as is often mistakenly suggested).
Some are grilled others are broiled...yet there are some that are...strangley cooked. I for one know that Scotland is a fan of deep frying their burgers in a fish and chips batter, anyone else know of strange ways to cook this amazing patty of meat?
I've seen a guy deep fat fry a burger with no batter in the same batch of oil as his fries/chips. That was disgusting looking. Ive seen them cooked on modern flat top griddles, stove top cast iron griddles, on a hibachi, in some kind of wire holder rover a campfire, george formaned, blackened on super hot cast iron, baked in a casserole dish in the oven, in a solar over\n (took forever to get to temp), small burgers cooked with a Fresnel magnifying lens, in a wok, microwaved (freakin gugh X3), and using a butane creme brule torch (tasted like gas).
Anyone who microwaves a hamburger (unless to reheat the patty the next day) should be shipped to a remote island full of other people with similar indiscretions.
