Does anyone else get a Uwe Boll vibe off this Titov guy?
Infestation: Survivor Stories
Game » consists of 2 releases. Released Dec 17, 2012
Formerly called The War Z, this infamous clone of the popular ARMA II mod "DayZ" is best known for the many controversies surrounding its launch, subsequent removal from Steam, and the unapologetic stance of its developers.
The War Z Pulled from Steam Amid Torrent of Complaints by Players

Honestly, anything that tricks Alex into talking about Big Rigs again is fine by me.
The War Z is really just a conspiracy designed to trick Alex into doing just that. Mission complete.
I dont always like TB, but in this case i found him entertaining, not to mention showing off just how fucked this game is (was)
Really weird the put the game on Steam so early with descriptions of what the game will eventually be. I've had the beta for a few weeks and on their website the devs have been pretty open about what features are currently available and which are in the pipeline. Game is alright. Less tedious to play than Day Z.

What a shitstorm.
BulletStorm II: Shitstorm
Kotaku has a summary of all that has happened - yeah, shitstorm seems to be an accurate reading.
Have had this game since it went into beta, so none of this is a surprise to me when I saw it pop up on Steam. Nevertheless though, I don't even think that game was ready for beta testing when the beta was released.
I learned about that today, I think my brain is still trying to put itself back togetherTitov worked for Stellar Stone? And made Big Rigs?!?!
And he's still making games...
This Sergey guy is also claiming on the official forums that it is the players' fault for misreading the Steam page. http://forums.thewarz.com/showthread.php?79251-Steam-purchase-page-issues
It blows my mind that he wouldn't even admit he did something wrong. The page was full of outright lies. It had nothing to do with misreading.
I can honestly say that the biggest mistake I've made all year was purchasing The WarZ. I bought it during its beta/alpha/whatever the fuck stage for $25 after a friend mislead me to thinking it was just as good as or a better experience than DayZ, which I loved at the time (burned out now). Good god it was terrible. He couldn't have been more wrong. I can't believe I paid money for this sack of shit. It wasn't release on steam at the time so I just had to bite the bullet. I might have played for 1.5 hours total at most. And by played, I mean suffered. This game is abysmal.
I don't expect or deserve the money back that I spent on this. I deserve to suffer the consequences and live with the pain caused by my dumb mistake forever.
@chose: Valve is doing their part by offering a refund if you are unhappy with the purchase, there is no need to sue people or companies over this.

You bought a game and didn't like it. You make it sound like killed your own kid.

Isn't there any misrepresentation law in America? Because if it does, they should be sued. The way this is being pushed under the rug is disturbing, to say the least. They haven't rape someone, but Steam should learn something from the Catholic church and Penn State scandals.
lolwut? that seems like quite a stretch in logic. mind explaining it a bit more in-depth?
Hello,
Thank you for contacting Steam Support.
As requested, the title has been removed from your account and a credit has been applied to your Steam Wallet. The credit can be used for future Steam purchases.
Big Rigs: Over the Road Racing, otherwise known as the worst goddamn game ever made.
You mean greatest game of all time, right?
I got 1.5 minutes of play. I got picked off by a sniper and then:
...3.5 hours until respawn or pay 50 gold now.
Wait a sec, why the fuck did I just pay for this? And why didn't Steam or Hammerpoint inform us of this extra charge?
Fuck this game. It was a sham and I was a fool for buying it.
Initially it just sounded like it wasn't done, but after reading this article it seems like it was done and those features were never designed into the game.
Of course, I have no interest in this game whatsoever (people are still making zombie shooters...?) but I don't think it can ever recover from this.

Well, that escalated quickly.

Proof #infinite that Valve is the Greatest
If they were the greatest they would've screened the game before release, or would've just known about the controversy because they are game enthusiasts and the controversy was there months ago. Now it's just a company that made a stupid mistake but responded in the best way possible.
Even their promotional art is a ripoff.

Well they didn't commit genocide, but Steam could learn a thing or two from Adolf Hitler and the Germans during WWII.
Looks like this Titov chappie has hit upon that age old notion that if you can't gain noteriety by creating a great product, gain it by creating the worst one possible.
Hell it worked for The Asylum and Uwe Boll.
Maybe Titov is going to challenge the game journalists to a duel next.

LOL. I know, right! :)
It's like someone slipped me a mickey at the start of the paragraph and I woke up all dazed and confused at the end... missing a kidney.
As always, you made a good point and an awesome read. I was looking at all the "bad" things people had posted about the game in Steam, but was shocked to see people on Twitch playing it and having a good time. Digging deeper into this... I think they are just crazy :). Game seems "ok" still kinda crazy to pull it and send refunds... oh well. Hope you can dig up more.
well I was part of the kick starter for The Dead linger and so far even though its in extreme Alpha its a pretty good game with a lot more to come...
as for Day Z releasing a alpha build with a heverly exaggerated description of what you can do in the game and what the game is capable of. Just says to me not to ever touch that game.
