I've got an iPhone 3GS coming via FedEx tomorrow or Friday and I need a good case for it. I've been an iPod Touch user for some time and I've always liked the combination of an anti-glare screen protector and a rubber case. I have the Incase rubber sleeve for my and it seems to work well.
I don't want anything too bulky but I do want the case to offer some decent protection. I'd prefer something that didn't include a screen protector so I can replace those independently as time goes on without replacing the entire case. Any recommendations?
What is the best iPhone case?

Anyway I've been looking around and reading reviews and I found this SwitchEasy Rebel case that looks pretty good and even includes two screen protectors. Anyone have any experience with this case?
" @KaosAngel: Just ignore him, omnipotence breeds insanity sometimes. That's not very nice now is it?

" @KaosAngel: Just ignore him, omnipotence breeds insanity sometimes.this is the best case out there (according to people on youtube) but some people seem to have problems with the black silicon tearing (ie dont get one with black silicon)

" Great...I just ordered the black silicon one. Hah. Oh well, I hear that this company also has customer service that is second to none, so I'm not worried. I'll post up a review once I get the phone and the case. "i doubt the black silicon is actually inferior to the other colors
Wow... Why even spend the money on an iPhone if you're going to wrap it in some shitty mishmash of plastic, rubber or both. If you need a case for your iPhone, go with Incase. I, myself prefer the Slider when the need presents itself. If these cases don't fit your budget, then it's unlikely you even have an iPhone.

"That's plastic...and about the same price as the case I just ordered. What are you talking about? Or do you just feel the need to insult everyone who doesn't buy the exact case that you have?
" @KaosAngel: Just ignore him, omnipotence breeds insanity sometimes.Highly overrated. Silicon tears and screen protectors were substandard in comparison to the Power Support Screens, I picked up at my local Apple Store. Also, it's tacky as hell.

I've got a Switcheasy Capsule Neo for my iPod Touch and the same case for my girlfriend's iPhone. It's great - not too bulky, not too flashy, and the perfect combination of silicone insert (for the buttons) and matte finish for the case itself.
She loves hers, so it was well worth the purchase. I contemplated their Rebel, but it's not as slick looking.
edit - the iPhone version of the Capsule is a lot better than the iPod Touch one, which is good for you - the iPod Touch version has such a tight fit that it's just shy of impossible to get it on without tearing the thin silicon condom.
The case's greatest strength is that it both protects the buttons and makes them as easy to press as if there were no case.
"I don't use a case. Cases are ugly, why ruin how sleek and great the iphone looks with an ugly case "
Why do exactly the same thing by putting an $800 phone in your pocket naked and letting it get scatched to bits?
I have a leather dealy that makes it look a little like a wallet. Sure I need to take it out if I want to play some of the games, but that suits me fine, the plastic cases I saw were too bulky (which was fine for my ipod, but not the phone. My 160gb Classic is 18 months old and looks brand spankin new thanks to the awesome plastic case I have it in) and I just hate the feeling of all those rubber/latex cases, for me the feel of that materials is like the sound of nails on a chalkboard, so yeah I couldnt get one of those.

I'm not fussed if the back gets scratched, and these cases hardly stop the screen from getting scratched, a screen protector does that fine anyway, you just need the patience to apply it right.
So I've been using the SwitchEasy Rebel for a full day now and I love it. I purchased an Incase Slider from Best Buy to use while I was waiting for the Rebel to arrive in the mail, and it was alright, but I feel like the Rebel offers better protection. It's just a bit bulkier but once you get the silicon base on and then snap on the "spine", it makes the iPhone feel like a tank. To round out the package, SwitchEasy includes two screen protectors, a squeegee, a microfiber cloth, a dock adapter, and a stand...all for $10 less than the Slider costs. One thing I really love about the Rebel is that it actually makes the iPhone's volume buttons much easier to access and use. The volume up button is raised slightly higher than the down button so it's easy to tell where your thumb is.
Great package all around, highly recommended. Here are some pics from iLounge that reviewed this case awhile back.
My only gripes so far are the battery life and that it won't allow use of custom ringtones for text messages. In a phone that has everything, that little detail seems like a major oversight. Oh well.
