    Overview

Kiteretsu Daihyakka ("Kiteretsu Great Encyclopedia") is a platformer based on a manga, and later anime, of the same name about a kid inventor (Kiteretsu) and a samurai robot he builds named Korosuke. In the story of the game, Kiteretsu and his friends are lost in a dream world and must work together to escape.

New characters from Kiteretsu's circle of friends are rescued as the game progresses, and once found will follow after Kiteretsu and mirror his movements. However, their pathing isn't perfect and so it's often easy to get separated or have other characters fall down pits or into hazards, leading to losing lives. Kiteretsu can use the gold he finds to create new inventions, which help when rescuing others.
