Kung Fu has never looked so good.
Movie based games get a lot of flack over quality and substance, where as most games based on movies are rushed out to cash in on the success of the movie this game does something i didn't think was possible it took the fun and whimsical feel of the movie and make a near perfect translation that appeals to young and veteran gamers alike.
Story- If you've seen the movie then you know what really to expect but some things have been changed which doesn't do anything to tarnish the experience.Your Po a lovable Panda who is training to be a kung fu master and with the help of his animal friends he will attempt to become the master.
Graphics- Stunning to say the least, great detail was given to the world from small features as rippling water,to leaves blowing in the wind. to the sand that covers Po's feet everything is nicely detailed and great to look at.
Control- For a big panda Po controls well, every once in a while you'll have an instance where it feels like he's running on butter and tends to slide after a good run but it isn't terrible and does nothing to ruin the experience, The button layout is intuitive and the combo's are easy to do.
Sound- Although Jack Black the star who voiced Po wasn't available the developers found a proper replacement who sounds just like Mr.Black also the other characters voice actors do a great job. The sounds of rivers flowing and objects breaking are very cartoonish that fits perfectly with the game itself.
Replay- With unlockables and a smash brothers style multiplayer game,it offers plenty of reasons to return and if your a Xbox user than you benefit from the achievements that are not only fun to get and add some challenge to a game with mediocre difficulty.
Final Word- For a movie based game Kung Fu panda does everything right with minor hiccups here and there it is still able to offer a rewarding and fun experience to anyone who enjoyed the movie and to platformer fans alike. rent or by it's worth the money.
