Played some with a bomber this morning. This game might not be for me, I know how to win, but I can't consistently do any combos nor have the will/time to learn any.
Don't get me wrong, I'll play this game for a while, but not a seriously as I did SSF4.

Hit me up if you see me online :)

MIKE FUCKING HAGGAR
Playing ranked games is really annoying. Search fails 25% of the time, and when it does, you have to search again, why doesn't it just continue searching until I tell it to cancel -.-
And then the whole updating point and saving profile thing, that should be happening in the background while I'm searching for the next game!
Oh and players who just disconnect when they are almost dead... bah ranked sucks :(
Are people here getting into those BnBs?
I looked into em over at SRK and man... I don't think I can even memorize something that long let alone execute it.
I guess that'll always keep me a casual scrub for life.
@animateria: Just do a lot of mission mode, at first the combo inputs and notations look absurd, but with some practice its nothing really.
Try Wolverine or Phoenix, their BnBs are pretty straightforward single relaunch combos with lenient timings.
Fun games tonight. Up for sets tomorrow in the evening again; I need to play far more actual matches.
Being a god of training mode is useless...
Gosu wants me to a tourney while everyone is still balls, see how the next few days go, starting to get a grasp on things, want to get a bit better first. Everyone seems pretty ass anyway, no one knows what they're doing so they abuse shit they saw online/keepaway/skrull/whatever else works and think they're ok. Only exception is @StarvingGamer:, dude is a magician.
Thing is, people can get quite competitive and if we do a tourney I can see it turning into the lamest shit ever.
@GetEveryone: I'm the same, I know everything, can do all the combos but it's the mentality I'm struggling with, you have to generate your own offense and really work to do so.
i had a horrible day of games on wednesday, not even losses, but just a combination of xfc lvl 3 bullshit (losing all 3 guys to a lvl 3 hulk really pissed me off, i know its my fault, but that doesnt change the fact that if it didnt exist, i would have won that match), getting beat by people that clearly dont know what they are doing but catching my assists with random full screen hypers, etc... lets just say, I was salty and onsidered dropping the game. I couldnt play at all today because of work and just being tired overall (I work night shifts every day which sucks), but hopefully ill get back to it tomorow since im off work until monday.
one thing i noticed tho is im bored of my teams, i made a new one which i really want to practice with, so if anyone is up for a set tomorow so i can get some matches with my new team that would be cool
" @Rhaknar: I'm your man. Going to pick up a couple of new characters and generally try to get a better feel for the game, so I'm down. Won't be until the evening, though. "
when you get on just send me a inv get, even if im playing something else (imy dead space 2, blops and ass cree brotherhood package should arrive tomorow... forgot to mention that, on wednesday when i was salty I literally said to mysef FUCK THIS GAME, went on amazon and bought those 3 games lol)
" getting beat by people that clearly dont know what they are doing but catching my assists with random full screen hypers, etc... "That shit ain't random, I like to keep someone on my team with a full screen beam super just stop people from spamming assist against me so its easier to get in.

I NEVER SAID FULL SCREEN HYPERS WERE RANDOM, I SAID I GET CAUGHT BY RANDOM FULL SCREEN HYPERS
I still have a lot trouble pulling off any kind of combo when playing online. I don't know whether its lag or its just because of how players play, I can never seem to get "in" :( Can't even do the super simple air combos, I feel so useless :/
Playing arcade mode tends to raise my mood and makes me think I can do stuff at least... but arcade mode does not feel rewarding!
I've taken to playing Wesker, Wolverine and Iron Man/Taskmaster ... is my team somewhat overpowered? I feel like I pull out victories against people that are better than me only due to how awesome Wesker is, despite the fact that I don't know any real combos outside of the aerial launching system. I checked some of the PS3 leaderboards, and noticed a couple of the highest ranked dudes using Wesker. Where does my team fall in the overall spectrum of things?
@StarvingGamer: Thanks for the games, still forgetting to do a lot of stuff like Viper oh+ cold star assist, Ammy instant oh if I catch you in blockstrings, Dante teleport, seismo dash in and the list goes on but definitely feeling a lot better about my game, couldn't hit anyone a few days ago.
So I'm thinking tournament a week today, run it for seven days.

Oh, Pessh!"So I'm thinking tournament a week today, run it for seven days. "
Edit: I really don't have the time to put into this game atm, and I can see it trying to be a real time-sap.
Think I may end up keeping this one very casual and try to do more life-affirming shit. Spent too long last year playing SF...
But it's so fun sitting in training mode trying out all the different characters. Dormammu + Spencer seems like they might be an amazing combo.
I think I have my team now:
Frontman: Magneto / Dante
Powerdoghouse: Ammy
Assist and last ditch effort: Sentinel
I'm reading the guide... It hurts, man, it hurts! But it's so good to read!
Still can't run a clean chain, and when I try Haggar's QCF + S in the air juggle, I just tag in someone instead :(
Can't get Skrull to continue a tag-in aerial combo, he just wiffs his M
made up my own Haggar + Wesker OTG combos, but didn't check to see if they were listed already lol. Lots of PIPE!
It isn't really just that, tbh. When I stopped playing SF I actually did stuff... Started learning another language, went to the gym a lot, got out a lot more. Not that it was necessarily a game standing in the way, I just felt more motivated to do other shit, when I wasn't so entirely focused on becoming better at a game.
I'll probably play on the side a bit, just nothing serious. Can't be arsed tonight, but I'll likely try and get a bit better in the next week. Still don't really get the game, and/or know if it's for me, but I do know I don't want to sit for hours at a time just for the sake of it.
Edit: Saying all that, I really do like the game, and have a bit of a craving to play. I'll see. If I can just play in my spare time and get better then fucking-A, but I can't see that happening.
" @mubress: So you get a PS3 when SSFIV is long gone and I'm all alone beating up other loners? You are a child of mean. "If it would make you feel better, i could log on to PSN tomorrow and you could beat me in SSFIV, cause i haven't gotten MvC3 yet.
does the game not run at 60fps online? I popped the game in but i had stuff to do on the computer, i look at the tv while its doing the exibition matches if you dont press any button, and the game looks 10 times more smooth than when i play it online >_> I havent actually played local VS yet so i never noticed...
